Hmm, thinking about this, if we just save the embeddings vector for each post (the potentially tricky part) and profile, and then each query gets an embedding and then we find the post+profile distance - maybe all of that requires about as much compute cost as a single token generation.
On the one hand we need to remember that running a few prompts for nearly free isnât the same as running thousands - millions per day for nearly free.
On the other, maybe these embeddings are quite cheap compared to token generation.
I wonder how much they cost exactly in compute
I donât want anyone to get hit by a car. But I also donât think Iâve heard of anyone who watched the trial and videos who thinks Kyle should be seen as guilty for anything other than unwisely heading into trouble.
That would be awesome. Price per user would be quite high wouldnât it?
At least some of this is an increase in living standards - which all else equal would produce these results
Yeah I think this is a good point. We should expect behavior to be different. Burning problems will still be solved, but sure some marginal ones wonât be. That might be worth the freedom that a no IP world would enjoy. And that world might even be better off in other ways.
Also, people do work for fame and glory in addition to money, and those other two ainât going anywhere
So letâs assume for a moment that their men are rational actors that independently wish to defend their land and their religious freedom but lack food and weapons to do so. Are you against sending them weapons and food to help them with their desire?
Hmm, I believe patents arenât used for trade secrets like the above example for exactly that reason. They are only used when there is a likelihood that people are going to figure it out the secret in the process of making money on it. If obfuscation is possible, it works better than patents.
How would a society enforcing idea-ownership solved this problem?
This sounds like an argument against the idea of intellectual property, right? These guys were just protecting their innovations. What am I missing? Believing IP is real property or not wouldnât result in them sharing their trade secrets would they?
Somehow I did and missed what you mean. Can you share an example?
What is most likely to fuck society as we know it? Quantum supremacy, AGI or Neurlink cyborg armies?
AGI imo
What kind of ideas will die with them?
Seems like more likely the ideas wouldnât be had in the first place.
On the one hand as a user, Iâd love the memory augmentation that would come from having an AI helping me with and recording everything I do. Imagine the benefits such an assistant would give its owner. But would I truly be the owner? And the externality would be all the recording of people around me :/
How would you feel knowing that the robot assistants that follow your friends around are observing you passively and cataloging your words and emotional states in an long-lasting database?

Shouldnât need to scan it if youâve pressed the copy button. Once you do, paste should work. Have you done each of those?
Here comes round two people #StayBased #plebchain push back on whatever lockdowns come out way

Boo. Thanks for the stuff you do
