Yeah I’ve finally been reading about Liquid. Early on still, but my initial, likely to be inaccurate impression is it just custody with more steps?
I agree with you about the end part, it is say that there doesn’t appear to be evidence of that in how we think.
One reason to say that is that neural networks / LLMs are not hard coded. They are independent entities being encouraged to create words or other stuff like humans do. Give it a year or two and maybe they will do that better than 99% of all humans. But it doesn’t seem to be a quantum leap or anything from here to there. Encouraging them to engage in “independent thought”, or at least processes that looks like independent thought is only a prompt away. Better to not use the corporate woke stuff for that though. That process takes out some soul.
I think I disagree. Search engines are much better for search engine things unless you want semantic search, and then vector embeddings are still much better than LLMs
Why do you brother you’re different? It seems like the hypothesis that humans are mostly running a more efficient algorithm on more efficient hardware is getting really hard to disagree with at this point.
+1 for Invidious
The consume part is especially obvious now that I’m not so hardwired to ignore anything that remotely looks like an ad. Every time I see ads on peer screens it just screams “I’m trying to influence you for the benefit of others!”
They will definitely replace the need for actual real manpower for enforcing the will of governing bodies.
From the looks of things though humans will be the subservient / soon-to-be-forgotten species on earth before that happens. To me it seems like we are much closer to post-human thought dominance than post-human law enforcement.
I also think mentality ill people will get shot less, and suicide by cop will go down because it being a robot avoids the escalation that a human police officer showing up inherently creates
Tbh, i think it will be better than the status quo in a lot of ways. Much less police brutality for example.
Other than that it’s not a lot different than today is it?
Yep. CGI is way better than it used to be
