Idk if I’m weird on this, but I rarely use LLMs as search engines. Their memorization of facts is too iffy imo. Prefer duck duck go for fact finding. I do use LLMs a ton in lieu of talking to experts about something I’m thinking about, or asking them to write code or other text for me. If it’s a questionable topic or answer I’ll ask it to critique itself as a new personality. It’s already much rarer than before, but I would be unsurprised if I stop needing to hire humans to benefit from their expertise within a few years. Regulated industries will be the hold out.
Are you saying that the openAI API costs don’t actually cover the full price of each run of the model? Or what do you mean by subsidized?
Is there any job you’d trust chatGPT4 to do for you right now?
I think I’d trust it to read my email and archive stuff I don’t care about
LLMs are useful for sifting through large data sets and digesting content, but who gets to claim the revenue, the processor or those providing the data?
Content can live without LLMs, LLMs can't live without content and now creators of that content want a piece of the pie. As #OpenAI got bigger, as their valuations balooned, as its revenue grew this was always going to happen
How they handle it will be interesting, trying to settle with big players who will sue you and ignoring the little players who can't seems like the path forward, but why not simply pass on the revenue through #Bitcoin and the Lightning network
If paid users are prompting an #LLM and your content is used as the reference, why shouldn't some of that value be passed on to the user?

Super interesting. My first reaction is to kinda roll my eyes.. LLMs are a sort of individual in my mind. A weird one yes, but they are doing essentially what people do so why pay for it in a way that’s different than what we do.
I did see though a talking head come up with the idea that AI will keep earth as a sort of ground truth training data for a long time. So maybe we will in fact get paid for what we produce?
Seems sorta like wishful thinking though.
Saw it again lol. Check out that totally 100% legit definitely not a scam url 🤣
But they only go to zero if there is competitive pressure against them by the AGI swarm. Otherwise they might just continue to operate at increasing levels of productivity, while being dwarfed in accomplishments by the entirely separate AGI economy. Temporarily the AGI economy might increase their value.
1. Is it primarily the stealing or the giving for nothing in exchange?
2. There is some non-linearity in how well society is, that may make it better off depending on how it’s measured. Going from .0010 to .0011 BTC is a lot more impactful on quality of life than from 10.0010 to 10.0011.
I would argue that since humans own and run current companies, and if we can’t control AI, then all the companies your retirement is currently invested in are going to zero.
Hmm… the S&P500 has historically been a decent investment.
Is it AGI-resistant?
Is gold or bitcoin more AGI-resistant?
#AI #AGI #gold #bitcoin
Depends on where it comes from I’d guess. Like if taxes were in bitcoin, and everyone got 2k bitcoin, would it still be 0
😂😂😂
Did anyone else see a grim looking frog flying through the air at first?
Nothing being specifically national currencies, maybe
Please add bitcoin 😈
Yeah so this is the question. One thing I think about all the time is that the ranks of both sides are filled with young men who have done equal moral work in deciding whether to fight, which is to say, not very much.
At one end of the spectrum, I definitely would if there were no possibility of escape and certainty of death for enough of my family members.
But how far to the other side would I still fight…
