Lovely Photograph of a Japanese Bee Fly! 🐝💛

The Japanese bee fly is a species of fly native to Japan and other parts of East Asia.

These flies are known for their resemblance to bees, with hairy bodies and a suspended flight pattern.

They are often found in open habitats such as fields and grasslands, where they feed on the nectar of flowers.

Despite their bee-like appearance, Japanese bee flies don't sting and are harmless to humans. They play a role in pollination, as they visit flowers to feed, which makes them beneficial insects in their ecosystems

This history packed tidal island is one of Europe’s most beautiful sites 🌊

Mont-Saint-Michel has a population of less than 30 people year-round, but the tiny island welcomes about 3 million tourists every year.

Located off the north coast of France, along the English Channel, the Mont-Saint-Michel sits in a vast and beautiful bay that completely transforms with the tide.

Now accessible at all times via a causeway, the rocky island was strategically cut off from the mainland when it was first settled in the 8th century.

GRAMMICHELE - THE HEXAGONAL TOWN, 17th century, province of Catania, Italy 🇮🇹

What makes the city of Grammichele unique is its hexagonal plan. Starting from the large central square, alleys and streets branch off that give it this shape.

The town was founded after the great Sicily earthquake of 1693 wiped out an earlier settlement called Occhialà, located to the north of modern Grammichele.

Grammichele was built by Carlo Maria Carafa Branciforte, the Prince of Roccella and Butera. Designed by Michele da Ferla, it was the first city in Europe with a hexagonal plan. Its layout was probably inspired by Palmanova, a fortified town built one hundred years earlier.

Grammichele has a hexagonal plan that could be potentially extended indefinitely. The hexagonal plan designed for Grammichele is divided into six sectors by six roads all converging towards the main square, which is hexagonal too, on which public offices are overlooked. 🐺 The wolf never eats corpses, neither animals, nor people; it spends its whole life with a partner, it does not mate with its mother or sister; it is a monogamous animal, it does not deceive.

🐺If a partner dies, the wolf remains alone; it knows its little ones well: it is the only animal that helps their parnts after a deep old age and brings them food.

🐺When you kill a wolf, it looks you in the eye until its soul abandons it; it's 25% smarter than the smarter dog, and is the only animal that doesn't obey trainng, they say. Wolves think, dream, plan, communicate with each other intelligently and are more like us than any other living being. 🐺

Hawa Mahal, also known as the “Palace of Winds,” is a beautiful structure located in Jaipur, Rajasthan, India. It was constructed in 1799 by Maharaja Sawai Pratap Singh, a ruler of the Kachwaha Rajput dynasty, and the architect behind the structure was Lal Chand Ustad. Situated at the edge of the City Palace, Hawa Mahal was built to extend the zenana, or women’s chambers.

The palace has a five-story exterior resembling a honeycomb of a beehive, comprising 953 small windows, known as jharokhas, decorated with intricate latticework. This design facilitates the passage of cool air, an architectural feature that helps alleviate the oppressive summer heat. Built from red and pink sandstone.

Abandoned Hotel Belvédère was an iconic Swiss hotel on the edge of the Rhone Glacier. It was built in 1882 by young hotelier Josef Seiler in one of the hairpin bends of the Furka Pass, one of the snowiest regions in Switzerland. The panoramic location attracted a pampered clientele who sometimes stayed for weeks during the summers.

✨I once asked an elderly woman what it was like to be old and know that most of her life was now behind her.

She told me she had been the same age her whole life. She said the voice in her head never aged. She was always the same girl. Her mother's daughter.

She had always wondered when she would grow up and become an old woman. She said she had seen her body age and her abilities decline, but the person, the being that is inside her, never tired. She never aged. She never changed.

Remember, our spirits are eternal. Our souls are forever.

The next time you meet an elderly person, look at them and remember that they are still a child, just like you are still a child, and children always need love, attention and respect.

About two meters long, and four meters wide, the mysterious Sayhuite monolith is an enormous rock containing more than 200 geometric and zoomorphic figures, including reptiles, frogs, and felines. Found at the top of a hill named Concacha, the stone was sculpted as a topographical hydraulic model, complete with terraces, ponds, rivers, tunnels, and irrigation channels. The functions or purposes of the stone are not known, but researchers believe the monolith was used as a scale model to design, develop, test, and document the water flow for public water projects, and to teach ancient engineers and technicians the concepts and practices required. The rock was "edited" several times, with new material, either altering the paths of the water or adding routes altogether.

While the creators remain a mystery, the monolith provides archaeologists with insight into the culture of the pre-Columbian population. Archaeologists have determined that the site was an Incan religious center, where rituals and ceremonies for the worship of water was conducted. The monolith is an important clue to this, since it depicts a water-like flow between the carvings. Modern-day engineers also speculate that the monolith is a depiction of the irrigation systems present within the Incan culture.
