Someone in my area sent up a drone with a #Meshtastic node. It reached as far north as west point and as far south and Brooklyn. I found out there are a lot of people in my area outside of cell coverage with meshtastic. I’m just not quite able to connect. If we get three times as many people we would probably all connect.
Shop says I have to replace the entire transmission which seems hard to believe. they've given me other bad advice before so I'll take it to another shop.

I haven’t brought a #meshtastic node with me to the city in a while. I got almost all of these nodes and dozens not on the map from Staten Island. This includes four Boroughs and New Jersey. All from one spot. When I was there six months ago from the same spot I could get maybe half a dozen nodes. This project is really taking off.
It’s very hard to hit the Bronx because Manhattan is a black hole and getting from southern Brooklyn through queens to the boogie down will be a Warriors like journey
This morning my #Meshtastic radio picked up two radios from a flight from New York to Kansas City. It also connected me to over a dozen other nodes as much as 40 miles away. Most people don’t share location so it can be much farther away. I even got connected to a bbs.

Sometimes I grow bored of our mid-market Japanese cars, but they both have had stupid low maintenance costs.

People in the #meshtastic world are excited about the $30 #cardputer, soon available with a Lora radio stamp. You can use this as an all in one messenger. Like the T deck but for much less money. It runs Python so you could even host a TC2 Mesh BBS on it.
#Mastodon massive and #CDRom/#RetroComputing hobbists I need your help. I want to get a heavy usb CD ROM drive for my computer so it doesn’t slide around. I figure I might as well get something that’s interesting to look at. I was looking at a 2000s era Iomega. Does anyone know of a relatively fast external sub CD rom drive that looks neat and perhaps essoteric. They make cool purple one but it’s only 6x speed.
