For regular day-to-day messaging, I don't know why more people don't use XMPP.
It's federated, well established, e2e encrypted, available on all platforms, requires no phone number or email, and is faster than greased lightning.
Awesome. Good job.
I used to keep up with my reading on Goodreads, and later The Story Graph.
I know all forms of reading are good for us, but I haven't done 400 consecutive days. Way to go.
I'm neither promoting nor disparaging Donald Trump, but he did himself no favors starting and sticking with "Truth Social."
It's awful (in the sense of unenjoyable), except signing up for it is a good way for him to get your contact info.
We would all be better served if he communicated on nostr. It would drive more traffic to the network (he could even donate to its develooment), and he would not have to worry about censorship.
Do whatever you humanly can (short of sin) to GET OUT OF ALL DEBT. Go to heroic efforts to get this done right now. Sell your car, work on the side, work on the weekends, work overtime. Then live on less than your income, even if that means you live like you're poor.
You're "rich" when you don't owe anyone anything. And you can sleep a lot better.
Imagine a baby is born with a penis, the way nearly half of babies are, and the woke parents name the baby Stephanie and assign the baby's gender as "female."
If the baby grows up and comes out identifying as a straight man, would he be considered #transgender -- a transman -- because he identifies as something other than the gender assigned at birth, and changes his name to Stephen and proclaims his preferred pronouns of he, him, his?
And what if he didn't want to be lumped in with the LGBT crowd for his realization and subsequent coming out, but rather publicly criticized his parents for causing him grief by falling for woke gender ideology?
I would admire a guy like that.

What if we were told we had to submit a complete daily log of anyone with whom we spoke (even casual conversations), and when, and where we were at the time?
Wouldn’t that feel intrusive, even if we have “nothing to hide”? And what if we had to document the exact contents of our discussions? Not that these records would necessarily be monitored in real time, but would always be available for investigation “just in case”?
That’s what happens every time we send an email or an SMS text message. It’s all accessible to legal “authorities,” whose rightful business it isn’t.

Can a man without children -- a man who identifies as such, in agreement with his assigned gender at birth -- rightfully demand that others respect his identity as a "mother"?
If you are cool enough and old school enough to use an RSS feed reader, you should love www.kill-the-newsletter.com.
If you would like to receive a site’s email newsletter, but don’t want it cluttering your email inbox, or you don’t even want to give out your email address, then Kill-the-Newsletter can help you for free and without any information from you.
Simply provide the name of the newsletter (whatever you want to name it), and it will (1) give you an email address to provide to the newsletter publisher and (2) give you an RSS feed address to add to your RSS feed reader. Any emails sent to that email will go straight to your RSS reader — while your personal email address is left undisclosed and untouched.
Read at your convenience, when or if you want. If you don’t want it anymore, just delete the feed from your reader.
It’s beautiful.
My focus now, being fairly new to nostr, is finding people to connect with. Of course, my real friends are too normie to try this out (they're busy SMS texting and tweeting -- even [gasp] Facebooking!), so I'm in a land full of strangers.
I know I can't be close friends with a person if he is unable to correctly answer in one word (or less!) the question, "Can a man become a woman?"
My phone's automiscorrect is embarrassing. I wish I could edit nostr notes.
We switched to MetroNet as our internet provider a couple weeks ago.
The name of our installation technition was a Hispanic named Jesus.
We already have an internet hardware issue that requires MetroNet to send a repairman to us today. His name is Christian.
On this, their second coming, I hope they can perform s miracle by bringing our fiber optic internet connection back from the dead.
Would be better to eat nearly raw steaks. Which also wouldn't spike your insulin and blood sugar like bread.
I'm still new here. Does it bother you that you can't delete or edit notes? That they will live forever?
Do you advertise your nostr identity in the real world, or do you remain completely pseudononymous for the sake of privacy?
A hypothetical scenario in my mind, for example: If I were to advertise my noster account on LinkedIn (which I realise I shouldn't be on), then any of my coworkers, my employer, or any potential employers might seriously object to my strongly expressed cultural, religious, or moral views.
Maybe i should compartmentalize known and unknown accounts based on subject matter.
Just thinking out loud.
Yes. Yet our fat diabetic people can be healed of the disease if only we would repent (change our dietary habits) and do some penance (fasting).
I was a fat type 2 diabetic, and was blessed to reverse it. My a1c went from 8.5 to 5.2.
I wish it was more widely known that it doesn't have to be a death sentence. It's curable.
PRAYING TO SAINTS?
There are different kinds of prayer: adoration (worship), contrition (expressing sorrow), thanksgiving, and supplication (asking).
Only one of these kinds necessarily involves worship.
That's how Catholics can pray to Mary and the saints. They don't adore or worship them in prayer (that would be idolatry). Most often, we seek favors from them -- such as asking them to offer intercessory prayers to God on our behalf.
As people of prayer, we Catholics are sinful beggars seeking the prayers of each other and of those holier than ourselves -- whether people on earth or those who are already in heaven.
"The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much," says the apostle James.
Contraception is promoted by people who think the feeling of orgasm is all-important, wishing it to be a "human right." They forget it's meant to be part of the reproductive system.
It's as short-sighted as thinking the main goal of eating is to experience exquisite taste, forgetting that taste is only a nice aspect of taking in nutrition as part of the digestive system.
Some times call for abstinence. Some times call for fasting.
If you say racism is evil, then that's good.
If you say transgender ideology is evil, then that's hateful bigotry.
