Sculpting in #Bitcoin, I am reviving an old project and making it new again. Cheers to everyone out there who has stayed heads down and kept building⚡️

#SVB & #Silvergate blowback has yet to invoke the culprit that nobody wants to live up to: #DeFi. ☠️ The CeFi circus and global money shark machine sprang into action to transfer consumer dollars put into shitcoins into their own pockets via DeFi liquidity pools under heavy panic selling and consolidation during market fluctuations. While the onchain reserves are still standing, the macro of their grift is still playing out. The banks are just the latest, and maybe the last dominoes finally to fall.

Seems like it's been a long time since a FOSS themed project like #Nostr gained this much traction 🚀 and developer love inside of such a short time window. Incredible to see.

Filter replies to blocked users.

I don't want to see dozens to 100s of replies to engagement farmers.

It would also be nice to just display a link on src messages to replies instead of pre-fetching them. Makes the feed very repetitive to see replies to the same post duplicated over and over while scrolling.

ps Great work on Iris. 👍

Agree in terms if organic use, but its thr exception imo. FB ingrained the behavior for likes way before bird app. The pattern that doesn't seem to go away is engagement farming across all subsequent modeled services. Insta collapsed under this weight, and bird app has too. Reddit remained steadfast for up/down votes, but that gets abused also.

As soon as there is a metric, people start gaming it to pamp their profile/post/advert, and then gaming signals end up outweighing organic use. This is true also for follower/following metrics. Filtering the tribal affirmation likes economy from discussion is an unsolved problem.

UX idea for #nostr desktop clients: ability to identify and display accounts like a ticker tape service instead of a threaded account. horizontal bars at the top of the client could display updates that keep pushing data to the right.

This is useful obviously for financial tickers, but also for news accounts or broadcast accounts that post frequent updates and tend to not interact with readership.

Hello, world. Nostr has improved quite a lot inside of 4 weeks or so 👀 👏
