Cool, will be in Hong Kong soon enough 🤙
I live in mainland China for the past five years. As an American expat doing digital assets, it’s been a wild ride.
Never stop believing
Wish there was a meet up in Shanghai 🤙 have fun
KPMG issued a report talking about the positive ESG aspects of Bitcoin. https://advisory.kpmg.us/content/dam/advisory/en/pdfs/2023/bitcoins-role-esg-imperative.pdf
“But I’m in mainland China” :( I do appreciate all the relays (and obfs4proxy!) that run that allow my lightning node to operate https://1ml.com/node/0375afdebf40f697cd34042253c15829732619eef7a4924e461405f6fa13e6e15f
Gm from Guangzhou. Glad to see the US dollar has stabilized at 3450 sats, another large financial company has launched a stablecoin, 130 countries are investigating CBDC, and yet I still can’t custody Bitcoin at my bank. Maybe I am the only one, but I love a good challenge.
Congratulations to OSL and HashKey https://cointelegraph.com/news/crypto-hong-kong-debuts-retail-crypto-trading-with-hash-key-exchange Huge that Hong Kong retail investors can get in on Bitcoin and Ethereum.
If you are a US citizen and looking for a good way to daily dollar cost average buy Bitcoin and withdraw automatically to cold storage or free lightning network access, I recommend River Financial exchange. Low fees, US regulated, and Bitcoin only.
For every grain of sand on earth, you could create another earth with an equal amount of sand… and all of this sand added together would still be less than the total number of unique addresses that Bitcoin can support. Keep your private key or seed phrase stored safely and securely offline, and your Bitcoin will remain secure.
Never tried it. Which country?
Looking forward to the next release of Core Lightning. Anyone know when it might ship? Eager to get a bug fixed to get my node gossiping again :)
Bitcoin is not a scam… but nobody is forcing anyone to use it haha. Lot us like it because many of the clients have built in lightning wallets for tipping content creators.
Nostr is great for uncensored content with decentralized relays. It embraces the same values as Bitcoin in that regard
Easiest is likely to get a lightning wallet such as wallet of Satoshi. You can simply generate an invoice on your phone, have them pay you, and the fees and speed are very good
Otherwise, you could put a Bitcoin QR code they could scan. This could go to an exchange or a private wallet. Simple, but the fees are higher.
Really excited to be able to withdraw Bitcoin to my core lightning node directly from Kraken with zero fee. I am easily amused.
Can’t wait to try doing it with River Financial now that I have a daily purchase set up with them. So far, so good.
I made my own bolt card using a nfc key fob and lnbits.
