Hi everybody! I’m suuuuuper new here and my friend nostr:npub1z6uxwev8c8wauc9j8vnjq5gj5n2lpnnm6pq57e68d40w59gz4umqzntvyx helped me get set up. Any #bluegrass or #billystrings fans are welcome here. I will probably just post my random thoughts.

Welcome! Devil Makes Three?

That has been said for fucking decades and it still isn’t true and I don’t believe it will be.

Cannot wait for these AI companies to go tits up, good riddance

Just started learning Go. I like it a lot so far

SLIP-39 and a lawyer if you’re not worried about a 6102 style confiscation. Easier than multisig and allows for some redundancy.

I find myself wanting to use social media less and less with each passing day. that includes nostr. when I was a kid the Internet gave my weird, nerdy, introverted self a chance to find other misfits on the weird and wild web.

social media is mostly an echo chamber and a collection of in-groups or out-groups. the same vague platitudes and GMs are recycled, and just like Bitcoin podcasts it's the same old shit on repeat. if you disagree you become part of the out-group.

I'm weary. I was an alcoholic/addict and those friends are either dead or gone from my life in one way or the other. I've found no tribe. I think I'm perpetually going to be on the fringe and permanently in the out-group, and I've become okay with that. Not sad, not depressed, this isn't a call for help. I've no patience or time for online arguments or disagreements

Just acknowledging what I've come to realize about myself. I think I'm at the point where I would rather have the silence and solitude, maybe the company of a book, rather than change myself to make friends and join a tribe. I just don't know if I see any real value in social media at all.

I have no intention of fighting or enlisting for another country. But I have no real qualm with giving aid in the form of old US arms scheduled for demolition anyways.

Eventually you run out of places to go, and will have ceded control to the enemy. What then? At some point fighting is the best option.

If it were the US being invaded or my home, yes. I own guns and would use them to protect what is mine—my property, my family. If your best suggestion is pack up and run then I’d argue you’re a coward.

I have no intention of discussing this further ✌️

Why is everyone (on Reddit for example) suddenly, or not so suddenly, so pro-war in Ukraine?

For example:

https://www.reddit.com/r/MadeMeSmile/comments/1j37b5c/meanwhile_the_uk_parliament_is_more_united_at/

More weapons, more ammo, more defence, more soldiers, more war? Where's the diplomacy here?

They want to completely obliterate Ukraine and/or drag the rest of Europe/UK to WW3?

Am I missing something here?

#uk #europe #war #ukraine #politics

I don't think anyone is pro-war in Ukraine, it's anti-Russia. Ukraine gave up nukes after the USA/UK/Russia agreed to leave them sovereign and provide security assurances, which has obviously been violated.

It amazes me that conservatives are suddenly so pro-Russia. The Cold War never ended, it just stopped getting press and changed faces and some tactics. Russia has propped up and allowed cybercrime to run rampant and continuously stirs the pot trying to divide and destroy America.

I don't have all the answers but it seems stupid to suggest we do nothing and let other nations steamroll through the world and continuously interfere with our own affairs.

It's the equivalent of sitting in your own apartment listening to someone going through the building torching and murdering the other occupants and thinking "not my problem".

Do you think they'll stop before they get to you?

Like half of what we gave them was old ordinance set to be decommissioned anyways and it's been like less than 1% of US GDP to fuck up Russia's day.

Finding a new blog is great. I remember when you could easily find unique blogs and personal websites on google. Now it’s just bullshit spam and content farms and junk.

make the internet weird again
