2023 was a very good year for me. Not always easy, but good. This summer I took an amazing vacation in Europe with my wife then got laid off from a director role at a nonprofit I expected to be at forever right when I got back, which sucked and hurt, but then grew and learned so much from that, consulted with various bitcoin companies and ventures and cannot be more excited for 2024. I’m just so grateful for this life, and for all of you here on #nostr. I wish you all nothing but the best in this new year 🎉 🪩

How much technical expertise is required to run my own relay? I’ve no experience with running my own server. I looked into Plex a few years ago but decided it wasn’t worth figuring out.
I’d like to run my own relay this year and experiment with it but I remember last year nostr:npub1s5yq6wadwrxde4lhfs56gn64hwzuhnfa6r9mj476r5s4hkunzgzqrs6q7z saying on a podcast that he was giving up trying to run his own relay. That makes me think it’s pretty difficult.

Well, that’s a good question. The packaging said it was preseasoned. However, cooked the eggs in butter and they stuck pretty good, so it’ll need to be seasoned more. I’ll report back in the coming days and weeks. I have eggs most days so I should have a lot of data. lol
Lodge. Not sure if that’s a good brand or not. My parents asked me for ideas and I said cast iron skillet. This is what they got me so hopefully it’s a good one.

Very true. However, if I understand it correctly, if you are saving in bitcoin that value is locked up unless you want to jump through tax hoops to tap into it.
I save in bitcoin but only money that I’m okay with not accessing for a very long time. 2-10 years.
