What’s the difference between Chorus and Kiwi or Satellite? Those were/are both for communities as well.

So I am using nostr:nprofile1qyt8wumn8ghj7etyv4hzumn0wd68ytnvv9hxgtcppemhxue69uhkummn9ekx7mp0qqsyv47lazt9h6ycp2fsw270khje5egjgsrdkrupjg27u796g7f5k0s0pfy4z and haven't been able to zap people for a while, although I can receive zaps. So I'm trying to sort that out this morning. Alby says I need to upgrade to my account and link a wallet, and that I can link my Alby wallet. No problem. But when I try, it looks like I either pay for Alby Cloud or set it up in ways that I'm not technically familiar with (and am not interested in learning at this point - self-hosting Alby Hub).

So I guess I'm looking for a lightning wallet to connect for zaps. I have seen suggestions for Phoenix, Breez, and Mutiny. It looks like I have to pay 40k sats just to get Mutiny up and going (am I right about that?).

Do people like Breez or Phoenix? Are there similar fees to get it up and going?

I guess I could just get the wallet in Primal going... I like the idea of having a lightning wallet that isn't strictly for nostr though... #asknostr

🌊 Lake Michigan 🌊

Small project from yesterday. Made a small coat rack for the garage out of a scrap piece of wood.

Well, I stumbled on this gem this morning. 🔥

Good morning, friends! I hope you all have a great Saturday!

Thinking about selling this workout tracking spreadsheet on Etsy. If anyone would like to test it out for free and give me feedback, that would be so appreciated! #exercise #weightlifting #health #fitness #grownostr

I don’t think that technology can solve everything - even AI (LLMs). This is an incredibly important talk and discussion about how chatbots are changing social interactions, including the implications for people finding friendship and falling in love with them.

Finally, they discuss design principles that might help avoid social dystopia.

I wish chatgpt and Claude didn’t blow smoke up my ass every time I ask them something. The average person must prefer borderline condescending politeness.

Perfectly roasted.

What’s with the bots that just shuffle your words around?

Shell peanuts. Toss shells into fire. Repeat. #bonfire #campfire

It’s done! 72 hours of work and by far the biggest project l’ve taken on by myself!

Even though he isn’t on social media, I have to give wife’s grandpa a huge shoutout. He and I have built many things together (a poker table back in high school, a deck, new top and rails and steps on another deck, a ceiling, bookshelves, and many more) and I couldn’t have done this without all of the knowledge I gained in those other projects.

Now, we wait for eggs. lol

Overprotective parents raise anxious kids.

They send the message that the world is dangerous, nobody can be trusted, and that they are not equipped or competent enough to raise them to be independent.

Kids only ate like half of it so it ended up being my pre-workout. Lol

Chicken coop update. A lot of hours of work between the last update and now.

A senior in my math class said something similar the other day.

-

Him: How much do you play the guitar?

Me: Not much now.

Him: That's why I never want to have a wife and kids.

-

I just thought, "really? you want to spend your entire life alone so you can play the guitar more?"

Of course a lot of young people think this and it changes as they get older. But I also think parents sometimes say this to their kids - "remember, once you get married and have kids you lose your freedom." My parents said as much in a round about way.

They aren't encouraging their kids to pursue meaning. They're encouraging them to pursue happiness, which is fleeting and fickle.

Of course there's more to it than that. There's culture and economics and on and on. But I do think that parents sometimes send a message that their life was better before they had kids, even if they aren't explicit about it.
