In some Nostr posts from a while ago, I vented about how I hate YouTube's algorithm and how it incentivizes people to make sensationalist headlines and images.

Like, I'll do a serious macroeconomic interview with a great and well-informed host, and then when it gets published I see that the headline image is like a picture of the dollar exploding with me smiling next to it, along with a sensationalist text description, for the algo.

I hate that.

So I'm going to aggressively shill an example of the opposite. Someone doing it right. I did an interview the other day with an institutional investor and bitcoiner, who doesn't do that. He has normal headlines, and normal pictures, to talk about serious things. Robert Dewey.

Bob has basically gone out there and told YouTube's algorithm to fuck off. He has a small subscriber base, despite being a more informed interviewer than most, as a gray-hair institutional investor who also gets bitcoin at a really deep level. I've met him in person, and he's great.

So my shill for today is, go check out Bob's channel, and consider giving this interview or any of his other interviews a thumbs up. Let's be conscious regarding shitty algorithms, and highlight things that push back on them.

We are the fucking algorithm.

I’ve been working on this new trick for a week and a half. I wanted to challenge myself to do the wrist mount magic drop thing at the very start and to get better at fitting the yo-yo through the dropped wrist mount so I started there and built the rest of the yo-yo trick combo off of that point. I still have more I want to add to this trick before I’m done with it but this is as far as I can get cleanly at the moment until I’ve got more time in practicing this part.
