May I ask what drove you to Nostr? Surely not its censorship-resistance. So what was it? What does Nostr give, or supposed to give you, that Twitter doesn’t?
Shut down by whom? The Nostr community is like the whole Internet or the Dark Net. If you want classy Nostr by your standards, run your own node and moderate it how you please, or find one that filters everything that triggers you. I understand your concerns, but with freedom comes the responsibility to understand that there is no government or company that protects you from content. It was your choice to use a decentralized censorship-resistant network, with all its freedom, but also with all its consequences.

Yes, but its just text, so it is not that much. Also you could set up a relay for your friends and family, it would only store their and your content i.e. but also on all the other relays everyone is connected to.
True, this is more of a solution for a store. To simply run a node, just LNd, Core Lighning or Eclair is needed. And a Bitcoin, Electrum or Neutrino node.
‘Forever’, as long as the node exists. Yes, same for DM’s, only that those are encrypted and only the participants can read those.
