So, apparently SIVB's Chief Administrative Officer was a guy named Joseph Gentile. Heard that name before? He was the former CFO of Lehman Brothers, just before they went bankrupt! And before that? He worked at Arthur Andersen, the accountancy firm which collapsed in 2002 after their dodgy accounting of Enron was revealed!

Being associated with one major banking collapse is bad enough. But *three* top-tier collapses? What a CV!

I tried to map out the logic of what to keep where, how to make it secure without being too complicated and how to ensure my kids can get my coins in the event I’m not around without them being able to get them before then.

Ok but to the question “cold storage” can just simply be: coldcard or ledger or latest trezors and that’s it. You may not need a third party controlling your funds if you are just a single person right?

Everything is a trade off. I believe multisig offers some good ones. No doubt I will change approach in future and constantly reassess.

I recently got a couple of https://securedrive.com.au/product/datashur-sd/ to store seed words and instructions for inheritance. Redundant devices and encrypted SD cards. You can’t store instructions on steel so seemed like a robust solution.

I think so. For my superfunds that’s unavoidable so it’s not a trade off. Personal bitcoin, sparrow and coldcard.
