inventor, consulting. artist. incorrigible pareidoliac, as will become obvious...

more wisdom, thank you!!! can confirm, this side of my "widow's cocooon" is much more beautiful, in every way! there is pain on every lifepath, the best win, imo, is to use it as fuel for your next, better one.

and let the Stoic wisdom of "amor fati" help your perspective re: "scary" change -- love it all, it's all good!

don't know this is available anywhere, but I'd like the option to "borrow" (with their consent!) another person's feed for to see the space as they do. might reveal for me new folks to follow on my own, or just a way to dip into worldviews beyond my own, w/o having to take them into my space "permanently". let's call it "constructive laziness" or feed "touring", or boosting discovery.

and to take it to the absurd extreme, it could become a courting gesture: "hey! wanna see nostr like I do? let me share my feed with you. will you share yours with me too?"

"feed" might not be the right vessel, but the idea is that you have found cool things and sharing them _as a set_ reveals something that you value.

it seems it might have the potential to grow nostr engagement in a natural way, not in an algo-fed "for you" presumption...

[yes, spellcheck, it's a real word: nostr!]

you got this. offer "him" snacks. that'll win the day for you! snacks, like say, macadamia nuts and dried cherries. you can tell, he _likes_ you!

I looked into hushed. did not get good vibes re: how safe/legit their set of available numbers might be, but I suspect that's just a shortfall in my understanding of that space. is this just voip in another costume?

it would be interesting if a company would truly step up to sell real privacy protection, with "we will protect you, and here's our promise to pay you if we fail". actively shielding and protecting you, their treasured client, as their paid service, not just a "well, we'll try, but you know the interwebs these days" lame-ass hint-promise...

what would I pay for such protection? hard to guess, but that's because it's hard to trust any such unproven biz models? what if there was a "I'll ramp up to pay more as you prove your value" trust-earning subscription model? with a known-up-front fees cap, but also a known rev-growth path to help motivate them to keep their promises? the power of aligned incentives!!!

and yeah, as noted before, I'm known to be wildly idealistic... that's why I'm here!

"the" way to be "better" is for the AI agents to have and use "better" information resources, so that the resource allocation decisions are "better". that's where it gets tricky! if the quality of their available info-inputs improves, it would be reasonable, given on-par decision-making "skills", to expect a comparable improvement.

maybe if _their_ info-chain doesn't include complicated human-folks with "let's not mention this to the boss just yet" agendas complicating things, then maybe they _will_ improve. can you imagine there being such things as "office-politics algos", messing with things?! is that our goal, to boil-out the messy human-agenda bits and just hope for "rational objectivity"? whose objectivity?!

where is Mr. Rogers when you need him?!

ever heard of Byron Katie and her "The Work"? it's basically an approach to see a "problem" situation from a different POV.

what if what you're "dreading so" was a totally joyful experience instead? what would "magic" (or mischief) you need to bring to the day to make _that_ your outcome? "what would this be like if it _wasn't bad_?"(TM)...

I'm not suggesting that you engage everyone in all-day rowdy poker hands, but perhaps try _something_ no one expects and everyone will enjoy. be the one who shifts the tone, who heals the mood. amaze yourself. and your relations...

it does work. I've used it more than once to fix gone-numb fingers (packing tape gun overuse...) and the surprise was that the needles for that win were place in my shoulder!

I've tried the dedicated woowoo-type office and the in-the-strip-mall "community access" booth-n-chairs chains (turned out to be a stealth Pfizer outfit!). I get good results in both settings.

Chris Kresser says that the term "meridian" was mistranslated. I don't even have a good guess about what's really going on with the needles and the energy. but I don't need to. for me, it works.

photo note: "oh crap the kitchen is already all packed up, except for this. and the tools. ooh! that's a diamond hacksaw for tile! that'll do it! problem solved. "

kludging rules! improvise!

[K,C]at...

shall we emulate cutlery then, tap its wisdom? oh why not?!

problem, meet (purple!) solution. I love kludging! it's one of humanity's best hacks!

would want to see any candidate spacefarer be fluent on this approach to solving problems.
