Welp, I’m 5 PIN code attempts away from losing my stack of corn.

I set up a cold card last year, and put the xpub into sparrow wallet so I could generate deposit addresses. I used the cold card a bunch testing it out and such, but now a year later I can’t remember the PIN code for the life of me.

I thought I had written down the seed phrase and PIN code, but it seems for some dumb reason I didn’t??? Or I’ve possibly misplaced it.

Now that I think about it, I think I set it up initially thinking “this is just a test, I will reset the device and set it up for real later.”

I guess it was working so smoothly I forgot to reset it and set it up again later? But that means I didn’t write the seed down or the PIN code.

I just went to do some UTXO consolidation and realized all this, I’ve forgotten the pin, and am about to brick the device trying to remember.

RIP to my 2023 stack.

again this is not for most of you #plebchain. most of you have level heads and still love bitcoin. i am an avid bitcoiner, but i don't drink the cool-aid and ignore it's shortcomings.

bitcoin is about freedom. privacy is essential for freedom. it is complicated to have privacy on a public ledger. bitcoin is an awesome store of value, but it needs a 2nd layer for greater privacy and to solve the fungibility problem. lightning is maturing. cashu is also maturing. monero solves the spend issue now with privacy baked in on a protocol level. it is currency. it's meant to be spent.

There was a UI someone built and I think it was based on nostr but end result was you could collect funds and donators knew the money went to the right purpose because you had a federation signing off before any money was released.

Multi Sig was probably the main thing but I don't remember if it used lightning also.

I need help, I remember from some time ago when someone developed a tool that could lock bitcoin in self custody but also allowed you to define a goal and accept donations and then you could spend it only if other parties in your "organisation" signed it off too. Everything was transparent is what I remember most. So a tool to run a sort of dao publicly without a Blockchain.

I don't remember the details so I may have gotten something wrong in the description but if anyone knows what I'm talking about, please point me in the right direction.

I found that zaps have a problem if you set your default zap type to private.

Press and hold the zap button, set the default type to public and see if that increases your odds.
