Just listened to the excellent samourai interview on Chris Blec Conversations discussing #bitcoin privacy or lack of.

Good to know Samourai Wallet is integrating tools this year enabling #monero swaps.

Lazer eyes will be in disbelief when it gets pushed live.

So bullish for bitcoin and monero in this regard.

Messaged received many years ago but me and our motley band of psychonauts and still committed to having as much fun as possible hiking the Devon hills and camping under the stars eating #lsd and smoking #dmt.

What a wonderful world there is to explore outside of #bitcoin and #monero

Run for the hills, your node will still be on line tomorrow.

#monero delisted from by yet another exchange in a "free democratic country". Price doesn't care.

Holding and using XMR never tasted so good.

Any #nostr plebs got a way I can jump the paywall on this article? Unless WSJ wants to make it available in the value-4-value domain?

OK Bluecheck.

Glad I'm so insignificant to you yet you seem compelled to reply.

"In the real world". You've never experienced the real world Beautyon. Your playbook is the classic contrarian, aloof nym hoovering up attention surplus to further shore up your social capital.

Like Taleb, you need detractors like me to enable you to peddle your charms, wearing the mask of The Intelligista and berate and block those you deem to be infidels.

Please continue.

"Strong opinions, loosely held"

If you can't hack your position being challenged then you are not fit for purpose.

Also, don't give me that 10yr shit, you hail from the class of 21 zealots. They are the most dogmatic.

If you came out the pleb factory, alarm bells would sound and a big mechanic arm would pick you out the assembly line and throw you in the furnace.

Weak.

Liquidity and adoption has nothing to do with privacy. Bitcoin is a transparent ledger for good reason. Monero has a private ledger for good reason.

I'd like to think we can agree that monero and bitcoin and like a shark and a lion. Different beasts and impossible to pit against each other. I see them as having two very distinct qualities. Monero is great for private spending, not so clever for long term saving. Bitcoin is great for transparent saving, not so clever at spending.

For the record, I have held equal units of both for many years and it's served me well in both regards.

I feel that's part of the issue. If we have our software buiders scared that they are going to "get in to trouble" then we're double fucked. Tell that to insurgents and freedom fighters who would lay down their lives to resist tyranny in various countries and you can see how we all look like a bunch of NgU pussies.

#monero is built to resist governments yet bitcoin has welcomed regulatory oversight and corporate control with open arms. People just happy with attending their 2024 Halving Party. I feel like we've fallen so far and definitely left the cypherpunk reservation.

Centralised exchanges delisting #monero is a plus point for the ecosystem. Why are they delisting it? When you truthfully answer that question yourself you'll see why.

No one is banning bitcoin precisely because it poses zero threat to the ruling class.

Another question. If Bitcoin is fungible, why are miners starting to implement OFAC? Also how is chain surveillance possible?

I'm not doubting bitcoin as a savings technology. My bets have been in place for a long time in that regard. My point is if you really want to ensure financial privacy then using bitcoin would be an idiots move. Without privacy there is no freedom so as long as you're happy with full financial transapency (in our lifetime at least) then go ahead and bend the knee and kiss the ring, spend your sats, pay your taxes and fund forever wars.

If bitcoin is your trojan horse, it'll be generations before that ever happens.

Good luck.

"Don't just do something, sit there".

Relax, enjoy nature and spend time with your family. The rest can wait another day.

Agreed. Centralised as well as 51% of block producers now enforcing KYC on miners. OFAC blocks ticking tocking. Open and transparent blockchain that the governement are not even fighting. They're welcoming bitcoin with open arms as it's easy to capture and create the next wave of capital expansion and oppress the next generation of tax paying slaves.

#monero on the other hand they fucking hate and have the IRS $600k to try to "crack". IRS failed. Exchanges delisting it and used by every DNM in 2023.

Happy to be saving in bitcoin whilst knowing the tradeoffs while spending in Monero as well as paper cash.

The development of the most private mobile OS out there surviving from #monero donations.

#bitcoin lagging in the privacy game. Ultimately this means less freedom.
