Nostr is going to eat all these centralized platforms alive. It might not happen quickly, but it is going to happen
I know a person that has thousands of followers on instagram and gets hundreds of thousands of views on her posts and she hasn't received a single ounce of compensation for it
Thousands of posts and hours for worthless likes, or sending and receiving value as each user determines, no rent seeker taking cuts... The choice is pretty obvious, they just need to see it
It's been a while

I love this bot. Spike in liquidations every time the price moves a few % and I come here to see how bad fingers were burnt ๐
Stacking my face off for years just to find out I will hopefully be a crab one day ๐
True. Violence isn't something that's too much of a problem at the moment, it's more a crumbling in the money that people are using, but yes, violence usually follows I guess...
My government is going to start rolling out a UBI in 2025. At the moment, more than 30% of our population already receives government grants (type of social security) and about 50% of households in the country have at least one member in the household that collects grants from the government
My opinion is that UBI will be a disaster, especially in my country, where so many people are already receiving these grants and with about 3% of the population contributing about 75% of all the income tax. Those paying the tax (and are capable) will just leave the country at a faster pace. No one wants to pay excessive tax for other people and you just have to fend for yourself
What does #nostr think about this?
Will bitcoin protect you enough even if the country is virtually collapsing entirely? Should bitcoiners start making plans to leave as well? (Note that the government won't change it's ways. It will remain corrupt, incompetent and power hungry until the end)

Has anyone heard about Ledn.io? Put your bitcoin down as collateral for a dollar loan apparently. Immediate concern is obviously that the lender doesn't send back the btc when the loan is repaid over time but would also prefer at some point if I do need to use some of my btc for whatever that I don't have to sell it (for tax reasons and the fact that I don't actually want to lose it). Or is that a big mistake? Thoughts?

GM nostr. Introduced two friends to the protocol this weekend. Seem to think it's pretty cool. Any suggestions on some guidelines or recommendations that I can send them to dig a little deeper?
