I'm an isotope geochemist. Mostly doing academic analytical work now. I did a bit of work in a TRIGA reactor in grad school. I do a lot of trace metal analysis work with Mass spectrometers and x-rays. The new generation of SMRs has me incredibly excited and I'd love to see them in person and/or support their development.

I just figured out how Geo-zapping works on the nostr:nprofile1qqsxvns8pl39uakaema9fy5uphjzajkssyqfx5r7yn0yvgs828xm02spz9mhxue69uhkummnw3ezuamfdejj7f4dd6x and it's amazing! I need to stop sending random people sats, but it's really fun right now 😅 🤣😂 🧡

Ok, if we get to >$150k this week, I'll open a bottle of your wine 🍷 to enjoy all by myself.

You'll have to tell me though because I gave up checking bitcoin price for Lent. Good thing I didn't give up alcohol... Let's go.

Nuts. I'm appreciating nostr more and more.

So nostr:npub1fpcd25q2zg09rp65fglxuhp0acws5qlphpg88un7mdcskygdvgyqfv4sld's wise board president ( nostr:npub12wu7095378nwykqs0yj39t7fjsvvglay26cajjuee80vtte0vyjsf482kk) and I were discussing our name, the progressive bitcoiner, and the different conversations it stirs up. This was his response and I absolutely love it

“I don’t give a shit about these semantic discussions because they are fruitless. They provide fodder for academics and newsletter writers. We believe Bitcoin is a tool for economic empowerment. We believe Bitcoin will positively impact our environment. We believe Bitcoin is for Everyone. Now label us whatever the hell you want based on that”

There you have it folks! 😂🔥

I dig it. I've gone back and forth with the name too, but ultimately there are way bigger issues for us to think about right now.

I spent most of the day installing python dependancies and different models and such to get a very specific kind of AI computing to run natively on my GPU. Lots of frustration, but it worked! Now I need to learn and play with the Stable Diffusion program more. Cool things coming!

"I used to have to spend hours in the lab meticulously degrading that ‘nightmarish matrix’ of lignin and the side-chain tangles of hemicellulose just to isolate alpha-cellulose for dendrochronology isotope research. By treating wood shavings with acidified sodium chlorite and then bathing them in concentrated sodium hydroxide, I could dissolve away lignin’s randomly branching carbon rings and hemicellulose’s jagged side chains, repeating each step until only the pure, linear glucose polymer remained. That pristine alpha-cellulose was critical for accurate stable isotope measurements—stripping away everything else meant getting a more direct window into past climates recorded in the rings. After purification, I’d run δ¹³C and δ¹⁵N analyses with an EA-IRMS. And for δ²H and δ¹⁸O measurements with a TC-EA-IRMS. I even had to prepare nitrocellulose in the lab, ensuring each sample was fully converted so the hydrogen and oxygen isotopes could be precisely measured before exchanging with water in the ambient air...

Kinda makes me want to make a transaction just because...lol.

Honestly, a good .22 plinking pistol is hard to beat for the price-to-fun ratio. I spend more time and rounds through my Beretta Neos .22 than my cary. Plinking is lots of fun, and real target practice, while still very important, is a bit more serious work. I am serious about my CCWs, but I still have so much more fun with my .22s.
