GPT4 is currently better than any local downloadable LLM out right now AFAIK, unless you have a GPU with much RAM you likely won't be beating ChatGPT with that.
That being said local Ai works pretty damn good for quick answers to questions that don't get logged into a openAi server.
Definitely worth playing around with them, cuz it's only a matter of time before they are as good as chatGPT or better.
