I think those are valid concerns. However, I think they are outweighed by ceding too much control to a spof in Core. One vulnerability could cripple the network

True, but individuals have to want to save themselves and put in the work to understand Bitcoin. I’m skeptical there are many more like us are out there, especially in a world of growing artificial scarcity and easy dopamine hits that soak up the masses’ attention span. There may be too much friction in grokking Bitcoin

Bitcoin is all that stands in the way of a mandibles scenario, so someone has to hold the line. I don’t think the plan was to ever destroy Bitcoin, just co opt it to do the states bidding geopolitically. They knew the dollar was on borrowed time and core contributors are easy targets to turn. They clearly lack a principled stance to MAINTAIN Bitcoin

Negotiating with those who want to embed arbitrary data on Bitcoin is no different than negotiating with terrorists. Core’s (probably clia-backed) psyop is the beginning of a long term terrorist plot to undermine node sovereignty. They seek to terrorize plebs by weaponizing policies that exclusively benefit nodes they see as economically significant. I for one won’t be negotiating with terrorists.

Get your local (preferably conservative - since I observe better conversion rate for those) politician or other influential personality and educate the community on Bitcoin. Make a presentation, make a course, make a speech. Don’t just sit there keep calm and stack Sats, it won’t cut it. We need to fight for real people that operate real nodes. It can be some other community, a church, I will go to my local priest to discuss importance of BTC and try to convince him to join BTC network.

You can go to your mosque, your HOA, I don’t care, just move your ass, life and death of BTC is in your hand pleb. If you reached this far and you are listening Mechanic, brilliant guy that means you have the base to do the education. “The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.”

He’s going to need it. Lots of financial engineering to do for the Vatican

I agree monarchy is preferable to a democracy bc at least it draws a stark line between the ruled and rulers. Not to mention the lower time preference of the rulers

This is the anarcho-capitalist mindset at work. Anarchy is beautiful - but fragile. Somalia is a perfect example.

In 1991, after the government collapsed, the country entered a state without a state. At first, it was booming. Things actually worked - until violent gangs slowly took over. And you probably know how the rest of that story goes, they even made a movie about it…

nostr:npub12rv5lskctqxxs2c8rf2zlzc7xx3qpvzs3w4etgemauy9thegr43sf485vg removed this post - good. I assume he’s younger than me, and youth tends to follow its own rules. It’s great to have young anarchists around - brave, anti-systemic, idealistic building stuff.

But if he’s older and I’m 33, that’s worse - because eventually, anarcho-capitalists have to face the fact that their worldview is naive and it’s a pitty that some of them never mature. Strongly recommend a book about it - Robert Nozick (Anarchy, State, and Utopia, 1974).

We can’t completely get rid of the state. We need it. We need the police (although we can argue), we need government, law, system (democracy / monarchy - pick your poison) - just 0.001% of what we have today.

Each Yin contains a bit of Yang, and each Yang contains a bit of Yin.

Holy I’m an idiot publishing it for the forth time in a row.

Anarchy would work if criminal actors like the state didn’t co-opt its efforts. Somalia pre 1991 was propped up by western aid.1991 it no longer was of strategic importance and various factions backed by cia proxies fought in a vacuum over scraps. I recommend devils chessboard to get a feel for the cia playbook. As for why anarchy is our natural state, we are self organizing creatures that naturally adopt a hierarchy based on division of labor bc it’s more productive than going at it alone. This is the basis of civilization. The state produces nothing, everything it has is stolen from individuals. It’s only a drag on civilization
