语言演进的过程发生在每一个使用者的身上，文字系统的出现本来是为了记录发音（一说文字起源于记录账本），如果文字和发音对应不上，那就是语言系统出了问题

可以看到粤语当中存在着大量只表音不表意的词语，中文各地方言当中也有很多无法用文字对应、记录起来的词汇，事实上这也丝毫不影响大家交流，在方言小说当中，变成文字之后，也是借用别的字的发音

自然也有一种观点认为先进的文字系统应当优先服务于可读、注音的，语言真正是基于耳朵而不是基于眼睛，当然我们也应当警惕洛克的这种倡议被过激地滥用，对此可以参考奥威尔在1984当中对英语“新话”的描述
