The sender might want to tip for a specific note but still make it anonymous. Tip on profile level is different the receiver wont have a clue for which content. Also a variant could be to reveal you zapped the note but not disclose the amount of sats on nostr.
Probably the sender and the recipient should both have a say

The whole haphazard social media competitor linking ban Musk admitted was a bug mistake. I think it was after twitters @paulg was banned because he posted his mastodon account.
I think he admitted it in a twiiter space and apologized to Paul Graham.
Should work with damus. I saw #[3] did some more fixes to lntips. The zaps are showing up now on my posts. Maybe it works for your zaps now too.
