You would get a lightning invoice from the guy that wants EUR cash. The btc seller will receive euros in his strike account (I just tested this). The robosats order is released and the BTC buyer get gets BTC over lightning.

✨ Merged: NUT-14: Hashed Timelock Contracts (HTLCs)

HTLCs allow you to attack spending conditions to Cashu Ecash the similar to how it works with Lightning. There are two ways to spend the ecash: either you know the preimage to a hash, or you wait until the timelock expires. Both conditions can be combined with an additional public key that needs to sign the token for spending it (same as with P2PK tokens).

This allows us to build awesome things like:

- Atomic swaps between ecash (of different mints for example)

- Combine it with Lightning HTLCs to extend payment routes over an Ecash mint

- Build trustless Lightning gateways that can serve as Lightning payment providers for users of a mint

If Ocean truly wants to attract all the hashrate from small solo miners, they need to remove their 1mil cap for a start.

They can do this by enabling lightning payouts, they could do daily payouts at no cost to them & no limits.

Until they do exactly this, they will NEVER attract small solo miners as playing the solo lottery is the better option, however small that chance is.

If Ocean actually do want all that hash from solos, the path for them is clear - but will they do it?

testing out Strike Europe we just realized our USD/EUR cross-currency payments are way better than Wise and everyone else.

was a total accident. we haven't even spent time optimizing or taking a closer look. we're initially focused on core functionality like buy/sell/dca/free on-chain payments/core lightning wallet/etc

this is just the outcome of Strike having:

USD/BTC <--> BTC/EUR

we also support SEPA instant in Europe and we'll be turning on RTP payments in the US this month. so soon not only can we do cheap & instant USD <> EUR but then customers can also have the payments instantly cashed out to their bank

Lightning as an open value transfer protocol is insane. it still blows my mind every time. crazy to see it all come together too. exciting
