sorry, your argument is dead in the water right there

bitcoin has already shifted most of the small transactions to lightning and the rest of that margin is going to ecash (chaumian ffs not ethereum you ahem)

lightning's network is not fully known

payments can fail because you pick a route where one hop doesn't know the next hop doesn't exist (this is a problem i hit up against with my work trying to build a replacement for tor that is based on lightning source routing protocol)

market is always right, and most people still pay for drugs with bitcoins, and there is this rabid, agitated asshole brigade called "moneros" who still believe against practical evidence that coinjoins and mixers are less than ring signatures

You're the one that said "everyone" can't use Monero. I'm telling you "everyone" can't use Bitcoin either.

Lol I find it hilarious when Bitcoiners claim everyone and their momma is using lightning (ridiculous, its so damn niche) even more when implied they're *actually* using it (not asking a custodian to do it for them)

You can say sender privacy of ring signatures are similar to Coinjoining and mixers (all are weaker obfuscation), but they definitely don't offer the strong amount and receiver privacy of Monero, so it's dishonest to pretend Monero only has ring signatures.

monero has no transaction capacity to spare if everyone uses it for this purpose

meanwhile, lightning literally uses a source routed variant of what Tor uses, and you fluffypony drones don't even realise that you leak the fact of you being a monero user when you broadcast a transaction

also, furthermore, i literally was working on dusk.network a couple years ago, building a smart contract system inspired by EVM and using BLS12-381 signatures with their handy pairing capability

i doubt ethereum is ever going to have that capability, because it requires a total retooling of their protocol, and i doubt dusk is ever going to go anywhere because private smart contracts are of less importance than literally just not letting the public see your fucking encrypted data

and in summary, monero's entire threat model and use case is obsolete, and you are stupid

All these unlikely boogeyman hypotheticals cut both ways. Nowhere even close to "everyone" is using crypto much less Bitcoin. Everyone CANT use Bitcoin on-chain or even lightning for that matter! We see this every time mempool gets full.

Every node on Tor is directly connected, or has the potential to directly connect, with every other node. Lightning Network payment channels do not fully-connect. The entire network and the network topology is publicly known for routing nodes and natural incentives mean traffic consolidates to a few large nodes negating any remaining similarities to Tor. Tired old parroting of what amounts to affinity scamming.

Yea, an acolyte from "the market is always right" corner of crypto is telling darknet markets how wrong they are. The only place where transactions can be permissionless is increasingly using choosing Monero but keep screeching.
