Same here, no answers, just unqualified opinions as an armchair quarterback lol. But I look forward to seeing how this is used. imo content moderation is often necessary (thinking of CP, gore, extreme shit like that) but more often than not it’s insidious.
The real neat thing here is transparency. Moderation can be bad when it’s opaque but if the user knows exactly what they’re not seeing and why then they can change that if they want, which is super powerful.
Brilliant. Zapped.
Wait a sec, what’s the interaction here? Do you get sats just for the impression? Do you have to claim them? This is dope.
Reminds me of Brave ads but without the shitcoin.
Is this flagging thing a feature of the protocol or of Amethyst or whatever client?
If at the protocol level it would probably also be something that the relays could choose to filter out. Could give the user some neat choice that way: only subscribe to the G-rated relays or snowflake relays or whatever (useful for e.g. parental controls) or the client could apply a moderation strategy as a matter of policy.
Why not though? If any client can use the protocol what makes it so different from a user perspective?
Imo interoperability/integration of the two protocols should be a focus, assuming it’s technically feasible…
Love me some Sco
Can’t wait to get off my Pi. I love running umbrel because it’s dumb simple but the Pi chews through SD cards and it keeps taking my node offline. Planning to build out a node in a Ubuntu virtual machine and keep versioned backups of that VM. Recovery should be super quick once I’m done.
Beta is closed, I want in on that sweet zap action

Wen next update of the App Store version? Dying to get my hands on the latest version but the TestFlight beta is full. #[0] you’re building something dope here, keep shipping 🛳️
Excellent, self-hosted alternative to Cloudflare Tunnels. An easier, turnkey implementation of a roll-your-own WireGuard tunnel with all the routing handled for you.
Anyone hosting their own services…especially Lightning nodes and Nostr relays, should consider setting this up.
Bitcoin onboarded me into the world of self hosting and I’m amazed by how much is possible (even downright easy) with the state of free, open source tools and services today.

Lmao the iOS client has been out on the App Store for a few weeks, what do they expect. Bitcoin is like 14 years old and still isn’t the global monetary stand but I don’t see these people saying it’s DOA.
Maybe I’ve been living under a rock but what is the argument against nostr? Is it somehow against some version of the bitcoiner ethos?
