It’s going on 10 years old now (this thing is a tank) so not so much these days :) … but I bought it for ~5M. Definitely has not paid for itself but it’s been a blast to use!

More about #[3] on their profile. Also you’d need to keep your Mac and the virtual machine running 24/7 to keep your chain and channel states in sync. That’s why many people run nodes on a raspberry pi or even a virtual server in the cloud.
Hmm, easiest way might be to install an Ubuntu virtual machine on MacOS, then follow the instructions to install Umbrel on Ubuntu, then in the Umbrel App Store download the bitcoin and core Lightning apps (not to be confused with their normal Lightning app which uses LND)
Hosting bitfeed. This visualization never gets old. https://bitcoin.thefockinfury.wtf
Lmao I get it. I was trying to sort something out the other day, couldn’t figure it out, turns out I forgot to open a damn port on my firewall 😂
Low key their best song imo
Never thought I’d cross paths with another human being that listens to Allan Holdsworth, lmao man fucking rips
I am but a pleb.
I thought was responding to the other guy who posted an article about environmental hysteria. I think Damus might have jumbled the thread. But anyway agreed, it sounds a bit weird if people are actively seeding clouds when it’s been raining for like 2 and a half months straight. Are they trying to refill catchments as much as possible before dry season or something?
There’s not that much hysteria to be honest. Even WebMD notes that silver toxicity only becomes a concern at much larger scale and that no cases of toxicity have been traced back to cloud seeding.
Keep in mind the guy that wrote this article (more of an advertisement piece really) owns a website that sells colloidal silver, so he certainly isn’t impartial: https://thesilveredge.com/
Who are some good follows on Fountain?
Any Fallout 76 players here?

Lol you ask how bitcoin creates value, I give my opinion, and then you respond that that value isn’t mine to take. But i never said it was, nor do I believe that the value bitcoin creates is at the expense of something/someone else, at least on aggregate.
But ok.
I don’t understand what you mean.
Internet-native, direct, trustless value transfer between individuals. The implications matter less to you if you’re fat and happy using Venmo or whatever, but that’s not the case for everybody.
It’s been a pretty cool experience for me spinning up a LN node, standing up a payment processor, and integrating it with a test front end. It’s rudimentary but powerful. In my view these are the primitives that will form the backbone of a new era in free, open commerce.
That’s the value of bitcoin to me. Next generation payment rails.
I see you trolling on NFTs too. lol, just look at my PFP. Of course 90% of the NFT market is low effort garbage and that’s a problem. But somewhere in there is a really neat way for artists to connect directly with their consumers without the need for a gallery or agency in the middle. And the communities that form around that channel can be pretty cool.
I’m not a card carrying bitcoin maxi so I’ve probably pissed some people off with the above, but that’s the value i see in both spaces.
give me the sats and no one gets hurt lnbc1pjqwe0hpp5hnxeazzaynrcsnvq6r9us605y2xlthrgcxmurjzex53wleu0wp3sdqu2askcmr9wssx7e3q2dshgmmndp5scqzpgxqyz5vqsp57d5pxyc37pvkff92pu68nkfxv632hldh9jkjsrly6xsk0hzy67qq9qyyssqdtturzr6acqld4lwly53v6n4gspd55z8af0yl9693wmc96qez8thc0pdmpgzh2hcf5ug0ztk5wlkaqk2qmvendrlrhca7l5pm2cdejcqayn5fa
