what's the long term gain you see here? are I assuming a reduction of the income tax, manufacturing coming back to the US over time? reducing or eliminating the income tax has been mostly talk so I'm hesitate to think it will happen, especially with such high national debt. he also could have waited on tariffs till he made more substantial moves in income tax legislation. and yes maybe we will see an increase in manufacturing but that will take years. did you have other ideas I'm not considering?

i would like this to be true as well, but from my bitcoin tracker app atleast, it looks like lighting transactions, channels, and nodes has decreased as well. maybe its just means people think number is about to go up and so they are sitting on their hands?
it is possible that this could lead to miners going under, but I think that's not necessarily a bad thing long term. the difficulty adjustment is there for a reason and it will keep the system running smoothly. also, I think the biggest risk to btc at this point is the increase in the power of mining pools to centralize and control the network. if hashrate where to drop momentarily, this would incentives other players to come into the mining space and increase mining decentralization
