...a wandering alien from a different plane roaming the universe in a tiny camper...

It still blows my mind that water falls from the sky….

Haw! It is a beautiful area, I liked the remoteness of where I was. A tad hot, however but the water cools nicely.

Trying photos on here... This is from my campsite on the coast of ‎⁨Toledo Bend Reservoir⁩ in Texas.

Welcome! 🤙

1️⃣ Add some paid relays and limit your global feed to only those so you eliminate spam. https://relay.exchange

2️⃣ Follow people that the accounts you follow are interacting with so your home feed isn’t empty. You can start with #plebchain to find other users.

3️⃣ Contribute your own ideas to conversations, and zap anything that you find interesting. The value for value #V4V innovation is unique and central to the #nostr experience.

Lastly, with no algorithms, there isn’t anything being pushed at you, deciding what you see based on data that’s been harvested.

Ask around if you have questions. There are lots of people willing to help! 🫂

Excellent tips, much appreciated. This zap thing is very cool and has me wondering is there a sort of etiquette on zapping, i.e. suggested amounts for certain things/activities? Sort of like those guides out there on tipping appropriately?

For those of yawl into personal blogs, I've set up a Nostr account nostr:npub19etvnd8gevtnxpcks4r333rv472726fh4lm8c05he7k2dan2grasss30y7 that shares the latest new blogs added to my blogroll at https://blogroll.org.

It's all humanly curated, no algorithims ever! ; )

Feel free to follow and enjoy -- it's a labor of love honoring the small web.

Hey #plebchain — please welcome nostr:npub14qv0hmq8ttaxtpgg2afh7zxyf3panwhd27qwszdq3dluetqmnl0sn32kgl to #nostr.

He’s already accidentally deleted his account and restored it, so I think he’ll do great here! 🤣

Whoa! Thanks for bringing out the welcome wagon.

It was wild seeing my notifications blow up unexpectedly ; )

I'm not much of a "social media" person but I look forward to exploring the possibilities of Nostr which are exciting and refreshing.

Phewwww… I ended up accidentally deleting my Nostr account by clicking “delete” instead of “logout” in Damus.

Fortunately after hunting around for “undelete nostr account” I stumbled on this resource on Github:

https://yonle.github.io/undelete-my-nostr/

…and it saved my arse. Something new to learn!

(I copied the relays from here https://github.com/mattn/nostr-undelete/blob/main/main.go to put into the text box)

Props and thanks to nostr:npub1x3azxuysp5vmfer4vgs4jn5tmfcx4ew8sh0qnev7gczljxsr7jwqa3g4el!

This reminded me a little bit of the Amiga bouncing ball logo...

What would you say your top three tips are for newcomers to Nostr?

Pardon me poking around, am new to Nostr and peering around all the corners. Looks pretty nifttu. Me likey so far.
