I don't care what you think of me, only how you came to think it.

,

Holy shit...

(Although, technically it evaluates to the right operand.)

I have never wanted to install Tiktok until this very moment

Is there a symbol for the binary operator that always evaluates to the left operand?

Chi is an eastern religious concept, a type of supernatural and spiritual energy. "Rizz" is short for "charisma". You can use "rizz" in place of the word "charm."

I have no idea what "vril" means, but I'm going to wait until the term has been around for longer to find out.

The "that's just your opinion" argument. It's incredibly dismissive and it strongly ties into the bullshit philosophy that "opinions can't be right or wrong." I used to think of an opinion as being exactly the same as a regular belief.

Eventually though, I realized that I could define the word differently myself. Nowdays I consider an opinion to be a belief that the believer can't or won't defend. Now I love the "that's just your opinion" argument, because I can say "no, it can't be just an opinion actually, because I have been justifying and defending it." A great defense that not only challenges their initial dismissal, but challenges the very philosophical basis of their dismissal.

Also, it gives me a great opportunity to use that argument against others, except now I can specifically point to the fact that they don't justify their position. Now I love that argument.

To be fair, Verita never technically told me to join the fediverse either. The truth is that I just really don't want my friend to leave.

I wouldn't be mad at you even if you DID tell me to join your instance.

The benefit of owning your key is that Vitor's choices don't matter in the long term; users can switch clients any time.

Otherwise I 100% agree that everything else sucks. If you want a platform that doesn't suck, there are more mainstream options like Twitter. (I assume Twitter's user experience isn't terrible; I've never used it.)

If you are leaving just because Nostr is full of crypto-bros and bots and because Nostr has hardly any good native content, then I 100% support you leaving. It's just that I would be really sad if your decision was because of one client's default filter settings.

First of all, the law is subjective, so jot that down.

Secondly, is there anything preventing your administrator from just defederating people anyway? I have plenty of experience with "free speech" administrators in the past. Turns out people were still getting removed from the website, just without any kind of explicit message.

Does your website administrator use their authority to block anyone?

Hard disagree. On Nostr you own your private key. It is trivial and cheap to switch relays and clients. On the Fediverse, relay admins get to leverage your account, your posts, and your social network against you. If a relay admin wants to censor you, or censor those who might talk with you, then there is absolutely nothing you can do about it, besides deleting your account. True censorship is fucking exhausting in a way that Nostr could never be.

For example, if Vitor didn't include a setting to turn off his repetitive poster filter then I would have abandoned his client instantly, no matter how shitty the alternatives are. If Vitor added speech requirements to his terms of service then I would have abandoned his client instantly. I've done it before too. Shit, I might use another client just for shits and giggles and there's nothing Vitor could do about it. In fact I'm on NoStrudel right now.

This is all not to mention how much of a generally shitty idea it is to tell a pedophile like me that I should go join some echo chamber ActivityPub instance. You aren't even the only one arguing that to me right now, here is a pedophile telling me to join his instance:

nostr:nevent1qvzqqqqqqypzpd4gx9wenc92qx09vk3z6d6seeg8hqmlt6kwj3cnr6rh4de9w3s2qythwumn8ghj7un9d3shjtnwdaehgu3wvfskuep0qyt8wumn8ghj7un9d3shjtnddaehgu3wwp6kytcqyq4a0vxr3rltdfqgahjgu0pxhhea3escthq00enjaye70wllrgd2yp90pk2

The fediverse is for cowards who are afraid of speech and who don't respect users. I have seen the choices you've made and I struggle immensely to see you in such a negative way. Are you really going to switch?

That's why I'm on Nostr. Every time I say I'm a pedophile on some other platform, a moderator quickly jumps in to ban me before the users can get the chance to cancel me. They have no faith in or respect for their own users. Nostr is great because nobody can prevent a user from being able to insult me to my face.

Nature is healing

I swear they are just pent up. I've seen antis tear eachother apart calling eachother pedos. Like they have this need to "expose" someone for secretly having a paraphilia. Maybe if they encounter a few real pedophiles every once in a while they'd realize how cringe they are being.

Your athiest bible is out of date.
