I bought a phone from google and they never charged me for it, and when I messaged them saying "Hey I didn't pay for this but you sent it" they said "Not our problem message your payment provider" and I never got a straight answer from anyone. Not my problem either I guess.

I shifted to recommending Pop over Mint to newer people just because it looks nicer for most normal users. Mint is pretty damn solid though, and has the added benefit of a large and old network. You can just add "linux mint" to google for any linux problem, and someone out there has had that issue already and solved it. Sometimes even over a decade ago!
