The only reason I keep my Facebook account is to post interesting links that I think need to be shared EVEN IF I know that nobody actually reads them. (Positive I am either shadow banned or everyone I know has muted me etc.) Effectively not being able to post even that stuff, would mean I spend even less time on the site... (Which probably would be a good thing for me personally, but won't do their data extraction any good...)
Any excuse to take your guns away from you - Governments only fear their people when they can fight back. That is the fluff they use to persuade people to start using it, but over time other options will be removed and it will turn more and more oppressive and permissioned.
The trouble is that various licences you need to legally drive your vehicle, such as insurance, MOTs, etc. will be ratchetted up to catch more and more people who are using older equipment. They don't want you having private vehicles long term, heck, they don't really want you leaving your 15 minute SMART city without authorisation etc...

Actually, if you read more than your kids book of entitlement, you would realise that the biggest buyer of slaves was other Africans and that it is still going on over there. The Arabs and other non white people were enthusiastic slavers and only stopped doing so after a lot of effort by the British navy to extinguish the trade. They weren't stolen, most of them were sold to the slavers by other African people. This was a legal trade at the time and had been since the beginning of time. Fortunately, white Christians started to think that there was a better way of being and eventually managed to stop the slave trade and freed the enslaved. This should have been the end of the matter but there are always grifters who want to get money from stirring things up again...

Oh, I am not saying that the monkey can't do with his banananas whatever he wants, only that we should study the reasons and motives that the monkey has. There may be important lessons to be learnt there, maybe we all need piles of rotting banananas piling up in our yard! Maybe there are unknown cosmic laws that we are unaware of but that the monkey has tapped into. Or it could just be that the monkey is diseased and we now need to isolate them from the rest of monkey society - for the good of the children etc.
The EU is becoming less and less relevant to the rest of the world. Self destruction isn't a nice way to go but maybe there will be enough people who get in the orange lifeboat and survive to make a new system.
