punk is dead, we're all fucking posers now

Anyone looking for an #Elixir, #Rust, #Go or #Python consultant/freelancer? Also specialised on #Linux infrastructure.

Based in #London, but only interested in fully remote contracts.

When a tech worker with 2 decades of experience has to resort to government aid, something is fucking wrong.

Feels like media and politicians are doing their best not to call a recession a recession.

What's on your homescreen?

Libertarianism originally was a modern branch of Anarchism. The American idea they now call #Libertarianism is just right-wing bullshit that has nothing to do with #Anarchism, as it hopes to achieve its goals through state processes such as elections.

Many Anarchist philosophers, such as Bakunin, Malatesta, Kropotkin, Proudhon, to name a few, are from the XIX century.

Not a great day to join Nostr when I'm on a diet, gluten-intolerant and still love pizza.

There's two types of people: those that did not like 12 Angry Men, and those who really enjoy #Succession

Bloody hell, what a show.

Is this a crappy version of "find the intruder?"

Still, 75% hit rate is pretty good, I guess.

I prefer expressed it this way: "good things are worth doing badly."

Go be terrible at something you love. Perfectionism is the mind killer.

What are the favourite accounts you're following? I'm looking for some recommendations.

While everybody's too busy trying to build the next Twitter or shill their favourite shitcoin, I keep wondering what the anarchists of the XIX century would achieve, now that we have the Internet, smart contracts and #bitcoin

It's time for free market #anarchism to be more than just pure academic theory. We got the technology now.

I still don't get Twitter, I do not enjoy Mastodon after the initial hype, but after a few hours with it I am pretty bullish about Nostr.

The reason it's growing like crazy is that nerds like me can read and understand its protocol in an hour. And the next hour you're already building something on top of it. Simplicity is underrated.

That is not possible, as, for example, iOS and Android are completely different operating systems.

While I understand how annoying it is for a user, a mobile monoculture would be terrible. Only having 2 players in the space already isn't great.

Web should be the common denominator for apps, even Jobs said so when he launched the iPhone, then he figured that native apps would bring in billions of dollars and let the idea go...

I'm considering to do it on dedicated hardware, either on a rented server or at home. For work I use Hetzner servers, but they explicitly disallow anything that has to do with cryptocurrencies, so I'll have to go with someone else.

Thanks. Yeah that part is clear, I'm wondering if there is any guide for tech savvy engineers to set this up, without doing the research myself.
