I try not to dwell, but I bring it up often. Just to remind people that there is an alternative to the broken systems they're complaining about. It's gotten to a point now where they question me out of curiosity rather than contempt. Idk if that's because of me or the market, but I don't really care. I'm just glad to see my people starting to consider it as a real option and not just that silly thing I'm always going on about.
That's always my response to people when they ask me if I've ever had it... "Well I've never had a positive test, so I guess not" π
You'll never get it again if you stop taking the tests π€·
It's got nothing to do with developers and everything to do with the people administering the systems.
There is little to no excuse for designing a system in which you cannot spin up the upgraded version in parallel, make sure everything is working, and cut to it.
This is known as a blue-green deployment.
A full upgrade, other than a kernel level upgrade should never require a full shutdown of more than a few minutes. And if proper redundancy is in place, that would be a series of rolling restarts, in which case the end user would never even notice.
Neither snapshots nor backups should cause a full system outage. One server at a time, maybe. But end users should never feel the effect of that.
It doesn't matter whether the service is legacy or not, anyone taking people's money for a service should have implemented proper failover and redundancy. We live in a time where there are no valid excuses for this behavior.
Fixing this has nothing to do with any freedom tech, only integrity of the companies and individuals running the individual systems.

GM frens! π« Wake up and be awesome today! πβ
Let's ignore those red candles. Let's keep in mind that soon enough we'll all have Creed turned up to 11 and watching ngu.

If there's going to be a bloodbath, we will bathe in the blood of our enemies!
I understand and respect the premise of allowing and keeping others in your life that have different, even conflicting views. But when we live in a world where those views trend closer to criminal and oppressive views, how much value lies in keeping those people in my life to any degree?
The whole Marvel franchise really blows my mind in hindsight. These cunts essentially just released the same move with slightly different CGI a few dozen times and made an unbelievable amount of money and get labels like, "the best action movies of the last 10 years". No quality or depth to them whatsoever.
The right path is rarely easy, but it is always the right path. It also tends to be a more gratifying ending.
Wait, what happened?
Fireworks are awesome, but I feel so bad for my poor doggos!
LFG frens! Let's party like it's 1776! π₯
I really love that I can't access my online banking because tomorrow is a holiday. This is one of the biggest reasons I was drawn to crypto (and eventually Bitcoin only) in the first place. These institutions are toxic as fuck!
