Bitcoin's code didn't change, and the community won't change it, so...
so... increase the blocksize and add ring CT?
or we can do more philosophy talk for another decade? lmk

walled garden tech, walled garden face
isn't the end effect the same if all the popular clients use the same WoT protocols?
The hardest part currently is making the actual website links compatible with Arweave. We could overcome this with standard formats, but even then the person would have to know how to use a Hugo theme. We could automate Hugo and make a front-end for the entire Hugo process, but this is a complex project.
The most likely future step would be for us to make a client for podcasts, not full websites. But I'm trying to gauge interest in this first step we've taken. Get some sites on there.
CODE DROP TODAY!~
I've searched far and wide, and I can tell you Arweave's new Global CDN has the most potential for websites, podcasts, and video to defy oppressive censorship. It's a game changer. But in it's current form, UPDATING new content to your RSS feed on Arweave SUCKS. I'll explain it like this:
If a German wishes to speak to a Japanese girl, he needs a translator.
If HTML links to Arweave content, it needs a translator, so the gateways can find it.
Arweave's Manifest is this translator. And updating this currently requires digging through wallet outputs and manual work. Nobody will do this. But...
Our society is increasingly turning towards a dystopia. We all got our backs against the wall, as they come for our freedoms. Arweave shows potential, but potential is just an emotion. Someone has to act.
Today, Simplified Privacy is open-sourcing our original Python & Linux scripts to empower any web dev with intermediate static site generation & Linux skills to automate this painful manifest update. Additionally, we're providing some of the critical documentation that Arweave currently lacks, to explain how to use it.
This is NOT the complete all-inclusive easy-click graphical-client for podcasts, that end-users with no tech skills desperately need. However, it is a first step in this direction, with automating this critical-but-boring task.
Some say the glass is half empty. But I'm an optimist.
And today, we got some drops:

Search the same controversial political phrases in all 5. And let me know how many searches it takes you to realize most of humanity is living in a bubble.
not a bad idea. I like reply guys, because then I know my post went through without lagging out
This may interest you:
Are you bitching about Spam on Nostr?
Compared to what? Email?! I can't even have an UNLISTED email without getting AI Nigerians asking me for bitcoin. They can't even get real Nigerians, they need AI to generate dribble.
You can't even join a Matrix room without some random clown copy-pasting his promo link. And Twitter has such huge amounts of spam, that some influencers post "End of Thread" to avoid phising.
Farcaster has more spam.
Reddit has it both in the comments and entire platform is click-bait ads.
Even Monero has spam transactions
Given the freedoms you get, Nostr is the best thing on the internet. And if you say otherwise then YOU'RE SPAM.
Bitcoiners say "gm" on Nostr
Ethereum devs say "gm" on Farcaster
Monero guys don't say gm, it's a timezone leak.
As soon as your device connects to Tor in the morning,
the last thing you want is "gm" on an anonymous account
If anything, say good night to fuck em over
SimpleX is good, they could improve by moving off government domains and allowing proving of who you are, through like PGP to prevent phising and doing business
Trail of Bits lost credibility since iVerify: https://xcancel.com/GrapheneOS/status/1828651999300124796
good point, thanks for posting
Discord is rolling out end-to-end encryption,
Do you trust it?
Before you rush to say no,
It's designed and audited by the same auditors that SimpleX uses (Trail of Bits)
So do you trust Trail of Bits to say SimpleX is secure, but not design Discord's encryption?
You know I actually wrote Trail of Bits to ask on pricing to audit my own app (which isn't a messenger btw). They use Gmail, so I used PGP.
The guy at Trail of Bits apologized that he didn't have his PGP key anymore, since he never gets encrypted emails. Aren't you guys supposed to be receiving code to audit or emergency 0-day flaws? That's going naked over Gmail? So he directed me to a web browser app that had third party Google JavaScript and claimed it was end-to-end encrypted. This might be true, but he has no idea what that JavaScript was doing.
So without even looking at the details of Discord's new thing, I can tell you they don't give a rat's ass about privacy. All this is doing is trying to remove legal liability in a post Telegram-legal world. But we can remove legal liability for them, by not using Discord.

XMPP is good, especially if the person has android. Something like Monocles or Cheogram.
If they have iPhone, probably signal. Signal is more normie than xmpp or simplex. Depends how much time you’re going to spend showing them how to use it. They are likely to know other people using signal already.
Me, 6 months ago:
Fuck Telegram, it's tyrannical bullshit. You're a weak assclown if you use that malware
Me today:
We have to stand up for the oppressed Telegram dev! They are coming for you next, switch to decentralized solutions!
