I've asked Brendan about it in the past and the issue was that Brave is heavily backed and partly owned by Eth maxi VCs and family offices. They must have changed their mind.
Haven't come across one yet, but the opposite is crazy. Some browsers used to let websites read your clipboard without your consent. I always go into settings to block that.
