I repair/hack/make/destroy stuff on YouTube/PeerTube. RetroComputing, VintageAudio, Tinkering. As unprofessional as it gets. Anti-fascist. Chaotic good. C64 rules.

A viewer sent me an email, asking me to look over a schematic for an autofire circuit that he had a generative AI create for him.

This is the circuit he sent me.

It doesn’t make any sense.

I sent him a circuit that works from an old magazine I used before.

Don’t fricking trust AI with anything.

I enjoy tinkering and the mods make a device I already have more functional so this whole endeavor makes sense to me personally. I also don’t have a lot of money to spend on tools so buying a "proper" desoldering station is a bit out of range for me most of the time. Plus, I get to make videos about the mods and can show them to others who may be interested. At least that’s my reasoning behind it. :)
