I speak about climate futures, mitigation and adaptation in the face of the climate crisis. šŸ‡æšŸ‡¦

These are the very worst meeting scenarios, the person on the screen is always a second-class attendee.

It may be better if they had one of these: https://owllabs.com/products/meeting-owl-3

It definitely self-destructed on Nos. I did a quick second post set to 15min and that also didn’t publish for some reason, but also as with the first test was visible on Nos and self-destructed there to.

We are having a solid wet start to our Friday with a sub-polar onshore flow creating lots of cloud and rain and our first snow possible Friday night and into Saturday ā„ļø

#[0] I made this update from Nos.

However, I don’t see it on Snort or here on Damus.

Could this be because it’s an expiring note?

The UK Met Office have also released their May #ElNino projection data and join the other major climate models in projecting what seems like it will be a significant event.

WMO: For Sunday May 14 +- 0600 UTC

"Max sustained wind speed of 140-150 km/h. Storm surge with a height of about 2.0 -2.5 meters above the astronomical tide is likely to inundate low lying areas of North #Myanmar and adjoining Southeast #Bangladesh coasts at the time of landfall."

Awesome! I didn’t know about the built in ability. I am a massive fan of ephemeral social media (stuff that’s really important and that you want to keep can live on a blog)

Is this default or do you need to turn it on in settings? Also how does this translate across relays? Meaning does the note only disappear in Nos but can still be accessed elsewhere?

I haven’t used Snort on the mobile web for ages. Looking good! šŸ‘šŸ»

This is such a great interview. Hope lots of folk get to see this.

BoM (Australia) has just issued their El NiƱo update and it remains at WATCH.

However, all but on climate model (Japan) has us in El NiƱo territory by July.

In our part of the world this means preparing for water scarcity and wild fire hazards in 2024.

What about where you live?

#Alberta fires. The smoke cloud (1,500 km long) has reached the Arctic Circle, as shown in this Sentinel3 satelitte image (May 6th)

Insurers have been doing these risk assessments for awhile, but now it’s time this data becomes available more broadly — If we are going to stand a chance at adaptation.

As we move deeper into a heating world, we will all everywherebe going through some things.

Being prepared for that is super important.

What is the data for your area do you know?
