My wife has been a libertarian from before we ever met. We just watched the Milei interview together. She was very moved to see someone who is running for President of Argentina articulate these important ideas so clearly (as if explaining it to a child) and sincerely.

She especially appreciated the part where he explained how the Social Justice ideology violates equality before the law — which highlights the irony that in order to achieve its faux social equality it destroys actual judicial equality.

Just wanted to share: I'm switching my main video platform to Rumble from here forward.

Until #nostr provides a viable alternative and also becomes a comparable network, this is where you'll have the highest likelihood of finding my work. I'll still be on Youtube, but I don't think of them as a reliable platform, especially considering the discussions I enjoy. The thought police will not have trouble finding "wrongthink" in my conversations.

Migration has only just started, so any help in sharing, following, etc you can give is a huge help. Bootstrapping new networks is a pain in the ass 😂🙏🏻💜

I left Twitter and made an account when it became X and I was immediately turned off. Used it maybe max two times and deleted my account. There was literally nothing of value there.

DUMP YOUR RASPI NODES. Get a used mini PC or used laptop for cheap!

More powerful, only $45-75 on eBay (plus ~$65 2TB ssd, but you'd need that anyway for your Raspi node).

This HP EliteDesk 705 G4 is **overkill** for a node. 5 yrs old. Costs $75*.

Fan noise? Meh. Power draw? CPU's max draw is 35W.

15W * 24hrs / 1000W/kW * 12¢/kWh * 30 days = $1.30/mo

This cpu is 8.5x more powerful than a Raspi4.

A more pleb-friendly option is a used laptop. Has everything you need built-in (esp the BATTERY!!! Huge advantage vs Raspi). This HP ProBook 450 G3 is running an 8yr old i5-6200U (3.5x more powerful than a Raspi4). Also super-quiet and low power (15W max cpu draw).

Small story: a journalist, friend, asked me if I could explain what the heck is this NOSTR that the Twitter CEO was talking (sic)..happily, I started to show him how it works, what can you (and can't) do with this and his face was 🤯

- OK, and how do I create my account?

- wait a minute, what happen if I lose my pk or something similar? How do I recover them?

(proceeds to explain how to keep his PK safe part 2 and also some additional info of how I manage my keys)

- Nah, it's too hard and I have a reputation to protect.

Instead of arguing, I just say "ok" but my doubt remains: NOSTR is censorship resistant, protect his reputation means that if he/she make a mistake and their PK got lost, how do they get back? Will they have to all start over again?

That happened weeks ago but, I keep thinking and while I agree with this note, also want to give voice to this specific concern.

There’s exactly zero value to it. It’s exactly the opposite of what the Internet was intended for. Albeit, it’s the perfect vehicle for infiltration by unsavory parties. I think the biggest takeaway is there’s no pushback for these “tools”, and all out adoption by said generation, throwing caution to the wind..
