Can't wait to see ETF-buyers get rekt. It'll be the new equivalent of going through a shitcoin phase, but in the fiat turf.
Thanks for the tip!
Giving it a go, but the following list returns "unknown error occurred building the friends list".
Are snapshots something I can filter through? If so, can't seem to find the option.
Luckily I found nosta.me held a cached version of my follows if I refresh it enough times!
Lost all the people I was following. Didn't use my key anywhere to my knowledge, all I saw of new was the new snort.social update making itself a clone of iris effectively. Welp.
Do you buy #Bitcoin using #KYC?
Even if you move it off to cold storage, remember the #fiat system and the Bitcoin system are not compatible.
Your data is at risk. YOU are at risk. Your Bitcoin can and will be tracked, be it months, years or decades down the line.
You are leaving a paper-trail LINKED to your #PII (Personally Identifiable Information).
I've talked about this for years, and it's crazy to see the consequences begin to manifest.
Then they fight you. In case you haven't noticed that's where we are, that's what's happening.
Governments are cracking down on as much as they can, it's going to get worse and this thread shows it well.
Run your own nodes. Open channels to other plebs, not just LSPs. Fight. Don't give up. Your future is at stake. Future generations are at stake.
#Bitcoin #Decentralize #Fight #Lightning
Obviously you've been pushed to do this.
Been seeing this for years with CEXs, and wallets. It was just a matter of time. #Bitcoin is NOT compatible with fiat, you can't marry the two. Self-custody is a pillar of the Bitcoin ethos, and its eco-system, as well as P2P TXing.
Many of these services try to bridge the gap, there is no gap, there's an option to be taken. Opt out of fiat, or don't. It's a hard truth.
I understand the valuable service you guys provide, but it's important to consider that as the lightning experience improves over time, keeping custody of users' funds is not the way to go - decentralisation of control is a way to cover yourselves.
The separation of money and state is a fight. To them, you're collateral.
That's fair. My thinking is how close we are to a KYC-centric experience and how hard it is to reverse.
Tools and the lightning experience has rapidly improved over the last 5 years, and Bitcoin's in general over the past 14, and self-custody is becoming increasingly a better, safer, easier option - And while I think we've haven't reached a point of no return, if it even exists, it could be close. As an example, personally, it was easier for me to read a couple of wiki pages about Bisq and set myself up on there than the thought of having to sign up for some exchange and going all that it entails.
Having heard what went down with #TheEscapist and hearing how Nick Calandra is against the ad-based revenue models, I really feel like #Nostr and the ease of #Zapping would just be PERFECT to support the newly established #SecondWind going forward..
Latest beta on Zeus allows for a self-custody by running a node on your phone. Not saying it's ready for widespread usage (that's why it's in beta), but at some point the value-proposition will became a question of "Why not?". And self-custody maximalism will have nothing to do with the service.
nostr:npub1xnf02f60r9v0e5kty33a404dm79zr7z2eepyrk5gsq3m7pwvsz2sazlpr5 noticed something with the latest release that is breaking the obtainium updater for the beta 3 update. The v8a apk isn't listed in the release assets and is only available via the link in the notes body. This intentional?

Just ran into this, confirmed.
I applaud #SwanBitcoin for having tried, but we know CEXs that have YOU in mind, just can't last. They're a marriage of #Bitcoin with #Fiat - It just doesn't work in the long run. Either they screw up, or one of their dependencies does.
If you're building a #CEX, save yourself the failure, approach with the #DEX perspective instead. Wins out in longevity, has market to grow, an audience looking for it more and more, and plenty of new to bring to the table.

Technical-misunderstandings literally halt technical progress in a fiat world. Non-educated people making guess-based decisions that shape the entire landscape.

I've been seeing more and more of Wallet of Satoshi surfacing.
Heed these words, people.
We've warned you before with CEXs, we're warning again with wallets, and we'll continue when worthless ETFs are inevitably approved.
Shit.Is.Going.To.Hit.The.Fan.
Protect yourself.

For the Olympus LSP, has the minimum channel size increased recently? Or was it always 1mil sats?
Visual representation/explanation of what the protocol is, what it allows, what it can currently do for the user, and what it aspires to do/become.
You can see clearly how ordinals are an attack against
#Bitcoin - It comes and goes, in waves. It's not a constant. If it was, it would be deemed desirable.
If the developers actually cared for its use-cases and prospects, they'd build it on top of the base layer, and experiment all they wanted there.
Instead, they've become a nuisance on something that does one job and does it perfectly - Securing generational #wealth.
Genius idea. Let's open another Lightning channel!
