Dear future self - Go out for a nice evening with the fam, you've earned it.

Once done, immediately start zapping every nostr note until your zapping wallet's empty. GroupEffort.

Having some issues using nostr:nprofile1qythwumn8ghj7un9d3shjt3s0p3ksct59e3k7mf0qy88wumn8ghj7mn0wvhxcmmv9uq32amnwvaz7tmjv4kxz7fwv3sk6atn9e5k7tcpz4mhxue69uhhyetvv9ujuetcd96zuur4vghsz9mhwden5te0vf5hgcm0d9hx2u3wwdhkx6tpdshszxnhwden5te0wfjkccte9ec8ymmc09kkzmnp9ehx2ap0qqswacu3amp428kj8wtpqf77yd2upukcn2ft4aycmxm5scmh359e0ss8kyg80, if anyone could point me in the right direction, would be appreciated. I'm using the Free variant, with ntfy.

It works perfectly for local apps, but I'm trying to test against web clients.

I

create an app, take the bunker:// link, give it to Nostrudel or

Coracle. In Nostrudel's case it attempts connection until it times out.

In Coracle's case, I'm not sure as the submit button doesn't provide any

feedback.

In both cases, checking in the developer console, no HTTP errors seem to be returned either.

"It is noteworthy the silence of the authorities, especially those linked to the Bitcoin world, who for years have remained silent about the limitations and risks of Chivo."

a) Bitcoin has no go-to authorities.

b) We've warned time and time again, for over a decade, of the issues of centralised systems.

When will these people understand this is not a Bitcoin problem, this is a problem Bitcoin solves. Attempting to marry Bitcoin to the fiat world, no wonder it goes wrong.

That explains it then.

I checked on the git, and NIP44 was still ticked, hence thought it was implemented already.

Hopefully gets re-added soon, thanks!

Do I need to do something to enable NIP-44 messaging on snort?

Works on other clients, but NIP-44 messages aren't received on snort.

When sending from snort, I can see on other clients they're not NIP-44.

0xchat - Nostr based.

Has P2P VoiP as well and group VoiP is coming.

I believe in organic shifts of tech adoption and principles of usage over users, BUT If there had to be one major, reasonably realistic incident in tech to demonstrate the fragility of centralized technology and institutions, what do you think it would be?

Collapse of the fiat monetary policy doesn't count - That's already happening.

Setting up NoAlt site where you can find big-tech alternatives based on Nostr. https://noalt.app/

So when someone new to Nostr asks, is there an alternative for Reddit or so, you can find it easily.

Let me know your thoughts, what is missing and should be added. Your expediencies on platforms that should be mentioned. And so. #asknostr

I've tested Minibits, eNuts, cashu.me and Nutstash - Eventually settled with 0xchat's ecash wallet backed by my own mint 😉

I was more talking about having Nostr help drive the adoption of ecash itself in the form of zaps, just as it did with Lightning. ecash could potentially make more sense given the frictionless, smaller amount nature of zapping goes hand in hand with completely feeles transactions as well.

It's not lost on me that there are still a couple concerns around how large scale ecash would actually work, hence looking to experiment at a larger scale.

As someone who feels right at home with #Bitcoin's long-time-preference point of view, one thing I've been incredibly excited about for a while as we enter a new cycle after the #halving, is taking the teachings we've had from the past cycle and seeking resolutions to the issues presented.

As someone who runs infrastructure but occasionally onboards newly-orange-pilled-bitcoiners into sound money for the self-custody aspect, scalability is probably one of the biggest pain points as we look to transact daily, and even see our favourite internet, #Nostr, integrate Bitcoin payments in whichever form/layer they come.

#Lightning continuously matures as L3 #ecash rises on its shoulders - But inbound #Liquidity is still a huge blocker for self-custody, especially in high-fee times.

#Ark presents several core L2 improvements and launches on mainnet in two weeks™, but is in its infancy - Time will tell how fast it spreads into our daily lives.

#Liquid becomes increasingly attractive to those willing to give up custody, or in times of high fees, especially for swaps - But a federation of companies may not necessarily be a federation for the people, by the people, we shall see.

Lots of amazing development coming our way, brace yourselves.

Anyone know if there are any plans for any #Nostr client to implement #ecash the way #Lightning has been integrated?

I am aware of the #ecash embedded widgets, which is great, but wondering about "ecash #zaps" on a per-note basis.

ecash effectively solves most problems of custodial Lightning. A mint is a pool of sats, and the admin of that pool (custodian) is unaware of who the sats belong to - Hence privacy.

There are currently two implementations (that I know of).

Fedimints are federated mints, so they can't be rugged as easily, more secure, but also means sats get locked into a mint where multiple parties must agree to hold/withdraw.

Cashu protocol allows anyone to run a mint in a self-custodial way - I see it as a winner for specific communities and people with higher liquidity looking to offer payment gateways to others - Risk of rugpulls is higher, but this is why it works for specific communities where trust already exists within the mint for one reason or another. Further, the sats become bearer assets within that mint, meaning, exchanges can take place when offline.

TXs within a mint are feeless, and the sats can be swapped in and our between mints via Lightning, but if user A sends ecash to user B who is not already part of the mint, user B automatically joins the mint user A is in, and can then choose to swap out, for instance, into their own self-custody mint.

Both have trade-offs, but the benefits they bring essentially solve most issues from Lightning as far as custody and privacy goes. To an extent, it also solves liquidity if you're not a node operator, users will never really have to worry about liquidity - As they put more in, they can only take that amount out.

What ecash has the potential to do though, is potentially centralise LSPs further, however, I personally see this a double-edged sword - Centralised LSPs suddenly don't sound so bad when users have bearer asset possession and complete anonymity over their sats and transfers, even over Lightning. On the other hand, centralised mint can become a problem, although this becomes less of an issue for Federated mints, and is exactly why I see federated mints potentially for the masses, and cashu protocol mints as great for specific communities/movements/etc.

These have been my findings so far after operating a mint for a while (for myself and some others), but we're all still learning 😉
