My name's Wicked ✌️🍎🍻. I'm an apple who loves art, math, programming, and Bitcoin. Exit fiat, save in bitcoin, and take it into self custody. Learn UTXO mgmt. https://wickedsmartbitcoin.com/

ChatGPT’s surprisingly good at color theory. If you give it a list of a few hex codes and ask what the next best color would be to add to that list, it’ll give back one that hasn’t been used yet and that matches the aesthetic of the other colors.

Imagine capitulating and selling your bitcoin at $92k. RIP. 💀

I may or may not have also added a nice wood block sound that plays when each of the last 3 blocks of any batch are finished being analyzed.

I may or may not have just spent the past couple hours developing a fancy progress bar for one of my python scripts. 😅

If I’m gonna be running this one for the foreseeable future, I want it to at least be nice to look at.

Sounded like he was saying that grain fed meat is worse because it has more fat…

Now we’re cooking. Just crossed 500k blocks processed from genesis and a few thousand from the current chain tip. Pretty interesting to see how the median was affected during the 2015 spam attack. Will be even more interesting to see how it drops with the most recent spam attack.

That is correct and technically when receiving assets as gifts, the recipient must know the gift's cost basis and report any gains if sold or spent in the future. It's a joke though...because that shit ain't never gonna happen.

My accountant just told me I need the cost basis of every zap I've ever received "as a gift" so if ya'll wouldn't mind passing along that info, that'd be great. Lol...jk. The IRS is cooked.

Can a bitcoin friendly CPA (assuming there are any on Nostr) riddle me this...? And please assume I'm a cucked normie who wants to pay taxes.

If I send a single 1 sat zap on Nostr, what are the tax implications of that single zap? Even if we assume a cost basis of $0, the gain would be far less than a $1 so do we even have to technically report it? Or do we report it with a gain rounded down to $0?

Now let's assume I've sent 10000 zaps, 1 sat each...what are the tax implications of those? Does each one individually round down to a $0 gain like in the original example, or are we supposed to take the sub-penny gains in aggregate and then round to the nearest dollar?

Where's bitcoin headed this epoch? 🔴🟠🟡🟢

What's the largest zap ever sent over Nostr? Someone's gotta be keeping track of that, right? Would be cool to get the complete historical data set for all zaps and make some animations with it.

It's a Lightning node lol...it has to be on to receive payments. That's just the way non-custodial Lightning works. Only way to "fix" it would be to either pay for the hosted node...which probably isn't worth it unless you're getting tons of zaps.
