That too! The best way seems to be a combination of algorithmic solutions like that for day to day, and more “brute force” methods like what I posted for cases where a user wants to take no chances.
Seems like at the very least, it would be beneficial for clients to add a feature where you can request to only see + get notifications for replies to your posts if you follow that person making the reply.
This would make it so that people don’t have to see harassing/spammy/garbage replies to their posts from random people, and avoid experiences like #[0] had yesterday

Clients (and users) must do a better job helping each other find people and notes on Nostr.
For example, someone just sent me a link like this: https://snort.social/e/note1g459tq3ucft6jz5s7zhhswjtz7h8qlfyf43vmrsu7tfpw800hkesq543gg -- but when I click on it it doesn't show anything. Why? Because Snort has no way to know in which relay this note is. It also doesn't show on https://nostr.guru/note1g459tq3ucft6jz5s7zhhswjtz7h8qlfyf43vmrsu7tfpw800hkesq543gg
But if I convert that to nevent format with the Mostr relay encoded inside then it suddenly works: https://nostr.guru/nevent1qqsy26z4sg7vy4afp2g0ptmc8f930tns05jy6ckd3cw095shrhhmmvcpz4mhxue69uhhyetvv9ujumt0wd68ytnsw43qe2wps6
It also works on https://coracle.social/nevent1qqsy26z4sg7vy4afp2g0ptmc8f930tns05jy6ckd3cw095shrhhmmvcpz4mhxue69uhhyetvv9ujumt0wd68ytnsw43qe2wps6
“Convert that to nevent format with the Mostr relay encoded inside “
woah very cool, where can I read more about this?
Until more of the well known people join nostr, here’s a tool I built that allows you to follow people’s twitter profiles from nostr: https://nostr-twit.glitch.me/
Stoked to see the first major client to implement Gossip’s “relay autopilot” model
CCP? US co-funded the research. https://theintercept.com/2021/09/09/covid-origins-gain-of-function-research/
good pt, those US researchers can eat shit too
and ill comment on this to see what happens
Every CCP simp who refused to even entertain the possibility of this can now kiss my butt

yeah great example, something like that! if in theory, all relays had this functionality, wouldn’t this mean that clients could connect a user to any handful of relays at random, and they’d get the coverage they need?
It would be cool to see relays that also act as proxies to all other known relays.
This way, rather than syncing *all* data with all other relays and using a lot of bandwidth/space, it would get a request from a client to look up posts from a particular user, and it would then ping all other relays for that users posts.
Is this possible?
Love the smooth UI! #[0] is this open source?
flashing green and red on damus, and just consistently red on snort
