Do we know for sure or are we just assuming it? I’d assume that too, especially after the Damus launch, but haven’t seen any actual proof yet.
Yeah, that’s what I was thinking as well, that it’s WeChat QR codes. I’d be impressed if the CCP had already launched an “attack” on nostr.

A client is just the application or website you use to write these posts and replies, just like Twitter.com is a “Twitter client”.
So I’m on the Damus app now which asks the relays I’m connected to for the events I’m interested in. It fetches my own events, the events from the people I follow etc and the relay returns whatever it finds in it’s database.
Point to what you didn’t understand, I’ll try to explain it better 😄

They store the things you post (called events in the nostr protocol) and lets your client fetch these and other users events to display them in your client.
