PV and thanks #[0]!
It’s 3.5MB for events and 147MB for images. It’s possible to base64 encode the images into the events.. but I’ll skip that for now. I’d still like a way to decentralise the images tho - maybe media torrents?
~200 lines of (non-css/html) code. All client side webapp. Still uses servers for images.
No bot/service yet to create the new event for the new daily cartoon.
Ha, so I actually built this. And it works :)
I just need to fix my create XKCD notes script, and broadcast the events to relays. I get some weird event id invalid during creation atm… otherwise would be finished.

Here is the latest version I have. 1281 p tags. I’d guess you hit the follow limit.
There’s a backup version to that downloads a json file for events found. https://nostr-backup.pages.dev
https://github.com/bordalix/nostr-backup
Or you can use my backup tool.
This is a cool utility written in plain JavaScript that reads all your events and broadcasts them to a relay list. Client side, open source code.
Even without moving money back and forth (washing), you can create fake zap events with an amount specified.
You can however validate them and often rejects bad zap events. However, you still end up at least having to trust a whitelist of zap enabled wallet services (like WOS).
Validating zaps requires at least a couple HTTP calls and is not easy for clients to verify (mostly UX and lag to verify zaps before showing a number). It’s a weakness for what we use today.
Ease up on the badgering.. we don’t need to bring it to Nostr. PV.
Why does everyone suddenly fall ill when ChatGPT has server issues?
Both can be valuable or even interoperable.
It’s literally just that file. You can download it, and it should work anywhere. It does have a few CSS/JS external dependencies - but otherwise it’s self contained.
I need to make the code more pretty and likely finish at least the editor before I’ll make a formal repo.
And what I find most funny is Musk never announced how many bots he actually found or identified. Apparently more than 5%. Perhaps 30%. I don’t know… but he is keeping that number quiet.
Avoid billion dollar debt boys and girls. It will turn your smile upside down.
No I actually used OB1 I think. Seems like OB1 was a for-profit company and the infrastructure costs was too high.

Damn. Hard to read that. I liked the team, and they seemed to do a really solid job from memory.
Hopefully it was just too early.
One idea suggested was a translation caching service. Unsure how the economics work, however the same translations are being requested over and over to DeepL at present.
Maybe a layer in front with a small fee could offset costs or KYC issues.
And yep. It’s easy to add a whitelist for articles or pubkeys too. And if theming is easy enough, could even support templates or branding.
