It’s wild how music can transports you back to a different place and time. Running through sprinklers on the lawn, drinking sun warmed hose water, riding bikes, skateboarding, N64. Pre-9/11. Safe, and without worry. Almost a weightlessness to it all. Ignorance was bliss. Time didn’t exist. I just couldn’t wait to grow old. And here I am - I have arrived. And I’m still jamming these timeless tracks but with my kids. And that’s exactly what old people do, don’t they? Were the 90s/early 00s really that great or am I just wearing rose colored glasses?

We’re floating on a rock in the middle of a vast cosmic unknown, where the dominant strategy seems to be: deceive, extract, and consume as much as you can before disappearing into the void. It’s a bizarre, high time preference game that’s cooked into a vast number of people via the fiat mind virus.
I made a note a few months back but in sum, I’ve had two major IRL fraudulent situations occur over the last year. One of them being a dentist who claimed I had 8 cavities - come to find out upon a second opinion that I had none. Secondly, an Occupational Therapist for my kids - who were balance billing and fraudulently charging us for fake visits. Also - at least 2 phishing attempts.
Increasingly, it feels like trusting anyone is a losing bet. Due diligence and a heavy dose of skepticism is key. Of course us bitcoiners are already primed for these situations. Thankfully - the Bitcoin mindset and framework doesn’t demand blind trust. All we can trust is our inner compass. Do what’s right for yourself, your family, your community. In a world built on illusion, that might be the only real strategy that makes any sense.
As far as the deceivers and extractors? They can kick rocks.

Conference is tame and pandering to deep pockets. On one hand I understand the desire to tread carefully and be approachable as we encroach mainstream adoption.
