I think a general attitude of optimism is essential to get ahead in this world. Optimism is about hope. It sees opportunities more clearly. Optimism allows for risk taking. Without taking risks the chances of success are severely curtailed. At least, that's been my life's experience.

I hope someday reposts and zaps completely replace the need for “likes”/🤙🏼.

Reposts and zaps are true value exchange…and have a real cost: your reputation or money.

Likes are superficial and exist only to inform an algorithm.

Relevance algorithms have their place, but they are best informed by a truly costly action.

Where lightning fails is when trying to send an entire balance from one wallet to another. I don’t want to keep dust in 100 different wallets. I should have the option to fund the fees separately or deduct from the amount being sent to sweep a wallet. Also seems different wallets require different amounts.

I would also say that the main problem is the Federal/National State, not government of all kinds.

The best technology for the job should be used and for quite awhile yet, the best technology for the job will still be a few real people in meat space getting togther and pooling resources (voluntarily) and getting things done.

For years I have asked any economics student in Europe if they know or study Austrian School economists and their theories.

The answer has always been no, that they are old economic theories and only Keynesianism is studied.

Saifedean is right in his book, the universities are financed with FIAT and impart Keynesian ideas, the universities are simple centers of indoctrination.

I do not know if this is the case in the United States, but Europe is clearly a covert communist system.

However, in Europe we still have monarchies, so we can't expect much.

Freedom #realFreedom cannot be "given". People can either respect a person's Rights, or they don't. Rights must be observed or defended else freedom is sacrificed.

Yet, Rights persist even without liberty.

Example: Australians still have a right to arm themselves even in the absence of the liberty to do so. Australians aren't free.

If someone else defines what your liberties are you are not free.

Free people have Rights.

Rights are permissionless.

Rights are moral. *

Rights must be defended.

* No one has the Right to do that which is immoral.

I orange pilled my nephews for Christmas. They’re 13 and 16. They thought it was so cool I was able to send them something with value while I was 500 miles away. They don’t even have a bank account, so they were so amazed that they had such simple access to a “savings technology”. Since that time, they saw the value increase by about 33%, which has probably hooked them. The next step is to set them up with the necessary equipment to run a nostr relay. It will be a summer project for them. Looking forward to it.
