The #Hindenburg_Omen (HO) last flashed on 9/8, 9/11, and 9/12 (1 week ago). Since then, I've been gradually shorting Mega Cap stocks with broken charts. However, I waited until today to short an index: I just bought a 3/4 position in $SQQQ at $19, similar to what I did almost 2 years ago (as per my 11/22/2021 10:32 AM EST @stocktwits post). The #Nasdaq hit an all-time high (at 16,212) on that day.

There is a study by @McClellanOsc, along with a chart, showing that all crashes and severe declines between '84 and '14 were preceded by the HO.

The HO has a success rate of approximately 25% for major crashes, as noted by @srussolillo in 2010 and 2014 WSJ articles (which I have backtested and confirmed).

More recent crashes (in '15, '16, '20, and '21) were also preceded by the HO, but it's essential to note that sometimes the HO misfires.

The pumping and noise have subsided on the Stocktwits $SHPH board (and elsewhere). I might reconsider $SHPH in ~ 1 year. However, some IPOs that experience an #IPO_AF just continue to decline over time.

🧬 $OLMA (NP) had another 10-day pocket pivot today and reached a new 52-week high, currently trading at $12.89 as of 9/15/2023. Since I initially acquired a position below $5 on 6/10/2022, it has surged over 2.5X 🎇. I've been actively trading it since.

Now a Pharma Biotech company with a market capitalization of $533M 🧬, it averages a trading volume of 257M shares.

While I currently hold No Position (NP), I'm contemplating re-establishing a Long Position if it surpasses $13.25 or experiences a pullback to the 21-day EMA or the 10-day SMA, as indicated in this IBD LeaderBoard chart.

$AMC is NOT held by the people any longer. $AMC became an easily manipulated stock by unscrupulous big financial institutions.

$AMC falling below $5 (eventually)… could force remaining institutions to sell the stock further, since some have requirements to not own a stock below $5. Will clueless remaining 🦍🦍🦍 $APE s hold their worthless bags to $0? 😱😱😱

Summary:

I have No Position (NP) on these stocks and I wouldn't touch them with a 10 foot pole! But note that $AMC (NP) and $GME (NP) should experience short-lived spikes from time-to-time… that most traders won't profit from. IMO it will just become another lesson for stock pumpers and naive investors, as seen with $VERU (NP), $INM (NP), and $HUDI (NP) in the past, or today with $BIOC (NP).
