21 sats is my favourite
Thats pretty cheap. Been wanting to make my own with an s9 for ages now
Just loving that I can nerd out about #bitcoin #nodes here.
What is your favourite implementation/ flavour of node?
Haha yup! Indexing next! Not sure if bitcoin core allows you to choose indexer.... I'm kn ronin dojo, and have the choice between the in house indexer, electrum or fulcrum. Fulcrum is orders if magnitude quicker than the others, but is more liable to corrupting in the case of an unexpected power off. Ronin dojo is not compatible with lightning, but is compatible with whirlpool, so again, pros and cons.
Just gotta mine a little more fiat before i can go to the #gym
I'm running a node, so no excuses, but dude thats awesome running an off grid node!
These bitcoin monthly pods are invaluable if you want to know what is really going on with bitcoin, with zero regard to its price!
Ahh I remember ibd times! Then when you think it's all over... indexing time! Whoop whoop! Nearly there though! Exciting times! What hardware are you running it on? My rpi4 with 8gb ram took about three days to do the ibd and then another day maybe to index (some indexers are much faster than others!) What node implementation are you running?
Oh no haha. I was talking to nostr:npub1k4ul3rwlrxuetdqrd694azv33jn48cq4q8encwwkn584ardzpmzqjplnf2. Cuz he said “at least it is PoW
Won't talk for Bitzilla, but as far as I'm concerned PoS is just what we already had but with extra steps.
Monero is one of the few shitcoins I don't hate, at least it is proof of work, and has its users in mind. Still not a fan of tail emissions etc myself, but I see how monero could be useful in addition to bitcoin.
I'm seeing similar but if you follow a few hashtags it does open it all up a bit more. You can also look at the global thread, lots of randomness there.
I'm sure it will become more eclectic and well rounded as more users flee from elsewhere!
A bit late to the party. But I’m thinking about buying a different/new hardware wallet. Currently using #ledger. And since they kinda messed up a few times now… I’m thinking to switch it up.

were talking about #seedsigner. I’ve heard about that one before also. Pretty cool that its DIY. But what are the other options out there?
#BTC only will do fine.
#keepyourfundssafe
#yourkeysyourcoins
There are so many choices hey! I also like the look of foundation passport, they are open source and have their own companion wallet. I believe they are looking at implementing whirlpool too, which is a massive plus!
Other than that, bitcoin only is the only way to go!
Enjoying these updates! Good luck getting it how you want it!
IMF Paper on Taxing Bitcoin Sees 'Quasi-Anonymity' as Greatest Challenge
- "The good news for tax authorities, and regulators, is that contrary to the vision of the original [Bitcoin] designers - a core role has emerged for centralized institutions of various kinds in the transacting of crypto assets, notably exchanges through which they are bought and sold."
- "Working in [tax administrators'] favor is the vast amount of information publicly available in unpermissioned blockchains. This provides scope for the application of techniques that have been developed for the forensic analysis of blockchain structures."
- "More speculatively, miners - who do see every transaction in non-stablecoins- might in principle be given a role in tax reporting/withholding, consistent with the general principle of tax administration favoring collection, where possible, at a relatively small number of upstream points."

Gotta love the double-speak "non-permissioned" lol! Permissionless will do thanks.
That guy over there is a right bonus hole.
I'm avoiding having any real sensitive information on here at all until we really know how all of this is going to work long term
Correct, it is a stateless signing device, so it doesn't hold keys when it's not on (this is a security choice by design) , meaning you have to give it your keys each time you want to use it (either type them in or use a qr code you can create via their software). Also great for generating seeds in a completely offline way.
Yep, these are all attack vectors that must be considered unfortunately. Seedsigner is good for this, as you can build a signing device with all parts from non nitcoin specific vendors, so no one need know you own one.
