I’ll also be doing a #tabconf23 “builders day” table on Thursday for anyone who wants to learn about that project. Mainly will be demo’ing what it does and showing people how to setup the dev environment and run the tests. If we have time we can try hacking in some more tests or features.
Yup! I’ll do the rust sats card / tap signer builders day table on Thursday.
Here's a link to the workshop I'm doing tomorrow 4pm at TABConf 2023 in Atlanta, GA:

This workshop is based on the example-esplora CLI that @evanlinjin created, but I've simplified it and adapted it to use the Wallet API provided by the bdk crate.

🤣 and my deploy GitHub actions is on the fritz so updates to the book aren’t showing up! Hopefully GitHub fixes itself before Wed.
Chatted with nostr:npub1clk6vc9xhjp8q5cws262wuf2eh4zuvwupft03hy4ttqqnm7e0jrq3upup9 about Neal Stephenson’s “Diamond Age” over lunch today and now I can’t get it out of my head. Overdue for a re-read. What ever happened to the nano-tech future we were promised?

Rust has great support for building binaries for different platforms (ie. desktop, mobile, web) and was designed to make it easier to write correct, memory and thread safe code. But for me the real benefit is compatibliity with all the bitcoin libraries written in rust.
To add to what nostr:npub1t0nyg64g5vwprva52wlcmt7fkdr07v5dr7s35raq9g0xgc0k4xcsedjgqv said, one example would be to take a BDK based wallet app and integrate secure simplex messaging to pass around PSBTs for signing multisig transactions, or to collaborate on setting up and signing payjoin or coinjoin transactions.
I’ve started playing with it. The issues that I hope they work out soon are: 1. I can’t share identity between devices, and 2. No good desktop app (only a so-so CLI). On the plus side I’ve had no problems using it for voice calls and the CLI is pretty good. I also hope someone is working on a #rust client library, getting a Haskell build env setup isn’t fun and I would like to try integrating it into other Rust bitcoin projects.
I think only the GitHub repo right now, I haven’t seen a schedule yet.
#tabconf 2023 is right around the corner! if you're interested in BDK 1.0 and/or using TapSigner/SatsCard with Rust checkout my workshop/builders-day events: https://github.com/TABConf/2023.tabconf.com/issues/created_by/notmandatory
You should also take a look at river.com they are bitcoin only and manage their own infrastructure.

nostr:npub1gdu7w6l6w65qhrdeaf6eyywepwe7v7ezqtugsrxy7hl7ypjsvxksd76nak and Doug Casey discussing money and the past, present, and future of the world. Where they disagree is as fascinating as where they agree. I love how they let each other talk and make their case at length, and then thoughtfully respond. Much wisdom packed into a 1:39 listen.

Wow, didn’t know my 88 sats zap would show up on Geyser, but OK I do like what nobsbitcoin posts.
Today I wanted to use nostr:npub1exv22uulqnmlluszc4yk92jhs2e5ajcs6mu3t00a6avzjcalj9csm7d828 on my #NixOS system. Took me most of the day but I found a way. Any Nix and/or #haskell experts out there know if there’s a better way?

As someone whose eyes aren’t what they I really appreciate this feature! Any chance you can bump up the comment font size too?
